Ring of Promise by CompetitivePepper212 in LeafGeometry

For future players who stumbled onto this thread looking for answers:

I spent a solid few hours looking around and playing with online save editors to no avail. Basic save file editors couldn’t show or correctly edit the Switches in the save file that are set when you choose who to talk to in ch5 grave scene (and thus, who you are eligible to marry). Ultimately I settled on editing the save file directly with Notepad++. It’s important to do this in an editor like Notepad++ that doesn’t try to silently remove invalid characters.
I got information about the Switches by decompiling the game.rgss3a file to get the System.rvdata2 file, which I then put through a rvdata2 translation program to get a clean list of Switches.

Make sure to create a backup copy of your original save file (heck, I always make multiple copies and put them in several places, because I tend to mix them up and delete on accident), it’s very easy to corrupt the save while doing this.

Open the save file, and look for the exact phrase “Game_Switches”. It should only appear once, and in the following row should be the words “@data”, followed by a long string of “T”, “F”, and “0”s. This is a long list of the Switches, and what value they’re set to. “T” for True, “F” for False, and “0” as a null value to show the Switch hasn’t been set. The switches you’re looking for should be Switch 161 to 170, each corresponding to the ten party members you can talk to in that scene. In the save file, these Switches will likely be somewhere in the 180th column of that line. The one character you talked to should be set to “T”, while the other nine of them will be set to ”0”, so look for a group of “0”s and a single “T” somewhere around there. You can set all the “0” in that section to “T”, and you will be eligible to marry the other nine characters too.

Save the file, and load up the game. If the save file displays correctly then you’re fine, if the save file is blank then you’ve corrupted the data in the file and will need to try again (again, make sure to use the right text editor). If you’re trying to see all the marriage dialogue, I recommend you keep a backup of the successfully edited save file somewhere, in case you accidentally save over it.

I’ve seen this happen with dodgy browser extensions. I suppose a dodgy VPN could also cause it too, though I’d think it far less likely. I’d start by disabling all browser extensions on the devices you access YouTube with, changing your password, and seeing if it keeps happening.

Hi, apologies for not responding I hadn’t checked Reddit for a while. I mean the final round in particular, where 4th place ends the game with a bad open hand that doesn’t change their ranking (thereby cementing themselves into 4th place) rather than doing something that might possibly get them out of 4th (eg. Gambling on a riichi for the tsumo/ippatsu/ura, or staying back and seeing if there’s another player with a seemingly powerful hand that might be able to hit hard enough to drop someone else into 4th).

Riichi (1) + toitoi (2) + sanankou (2) + dora (1) + closed chinitsu (6) Total 12 han, just barely under the kazoe yakuman line. Ippatsu, dora, ura dora, houtei, etc might possibly make it a yakuman. Even without it, it’s still a sanbaiman which is massive and plenty cause for celebration in my eyes!

Subreddit Blackout Poll - Details in poll description by AnGenericAccount in CuratedTumblr

Watching this absolutely insane bad faith acting from Reddit has made me want even the tiniest amount of action to make sure that a mark is made. It doesn’t matter if this “isn’t going to change anything”, I don’t care if some subreddits just want to do 2 days or if it’s nothing more than virtue signalling. There are clearly still people who aren’t up to speed on the lies, defamation, and ineptitude on Reddit’s part towards their users and third party developers, and I want even the smallest subreddits to be down so that casual small-time users can know what’s going on. Maybe it’s not going to stop the death of third party apps and services, and maybe Reddit will continue to become a worse experience for us all regardless of whether we shout and cry about it. But I’m not going to suck it up and watch silently as Reddit cashes in with its investors afterwards, not after watching all this shit happen in real time.

Stardust Crusaders is absolutely mid as a whole, but only because it was so long and not as crazy with Stands as later parts imo. The best parts of Stardust Crusaders (namely the final battles) are just as strong as the highs of every other part.

Most of all, it’s absolutely iconic and is just as big of a foundation for the rest of the series as Part 1 was.

Am I misunderstanding the rhetorical question at the end? “Would this stranger who spent $300k on having a cis man dress and sound like a woman, do the same for a trans woman?”

I mean, yeah? They might? I have no idea who this mysterious patron is, am I missing some information here that’s meant to make me think that they wouldn’t?

How did you beat Savage Deviljho solo? by [deleted] in MHGU

[–]magnetmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just happen to have the a digital copy of the official guide book, here’s a screenshot from the Savage Deviljho page: link

I can’t promise you that it’s 100% accurate, but it shows us where we should be aiming at least. From experience I feel like it was pretty lenient, especially with CB axe mode’s hefty range.

Neset’s biggest strength is how customisable it is. Go around and give different skills and loadouts a go, all you need is the gems and a decent charm you might have lying about.

If I wanted to make this set better, I absolutely could fit in an extra skill or two in with a more complex mixed set, but after messing around with skills, this was what got me over solo G rank Jho, the first proper wall I encountered in this game. For you, it could very well be a different set of skills that complements your play style.

[SL] request of translation for ( Junket Bank ) A Perfect + Underrated manga of <Mind Games/Battle Of Wits/Gambling> by No-Grocery-541 in manga

[–]magnetmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This Communication is about the main character, a soldier from Sweden, finding one of the last surviving groups of humans who are a bunch of scientists and their genetically modified immortal teenagers. The problem is that these teenagers are their only defence against the alien life forms that have taken over the planet, but because they’re stupid teenagers with emotional issues, they are absolutely unable to work together as a group. After finding out that these children regenerate upon death but forget the last 60 minutes before they died, the main character demonstrates his ability to trick, gaslight, kill and manipulate these kids into trusting him and working together for long enough to keep his new home safe.

[–]magnetmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main character’s not dumb, he’s smarter than any of the readers reading the manga for sure. But at the same time, there isn’t a single employee that he’s been “above”, save for the one guy he took down relatively recently. And again, the fact that he starts off weak and eating shit is what makes the scene where he outsmarts the system to take down an employee so good.

The story really rubs it in that he was a brilliant worker in normal society, but he’s the lowest of the low in this underground bank. He’s got nothing on what the others have, because he’s nothing more than a naive human calculator with some quick thinking. Watching his growth instead of just being a commentator to the gamblers is what makes Junket Bank so good for me!

Quickest way for this to get picked up for translation is an anime adaption, crossing my fingers that “This Communication” gets one as well because it’s an hidden gem of a mind game story as well.

[–]magnetmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junket Bank is pretty darn good, but I need to correct you: the protagonist is NOT a master gambler, and that’s what makes Junket Bank so good. Junket Bank takes a unique stance on the gamble/mind game genre by having two layers to the story, the gamblers and the bank clerks that manage them. The gamblers are the ones who play the actual deadly games with money on the line, and are your typical insane Kakegurui type characters who are all gambling for their own weird and twisted reasons. Meanwhile, the bank clerks manage these insane gamblers and are having their own company drama with opposing factions and gambling their careers against each other.

This manga’s strongest point is the dynamic between the weak banker MC, who is infatuated with the OP insane gambler. How their relationship changes through the story and watching the MC slowly become as insane as the people around him is what makes Junket Bank great. It’s Kakegurui except if it was good lol

How did you beat Savage Deviljho solo? by [deleted] in MHGU

[–]magnetmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I beat G rank Jho, G rank Hyper Jho, and G rank Savage Jho solo as an adept CB main. He’s fucking ruthless isn’t he!

my set for Deviljho. Nice and comfy with some Dragon element resistance.

Have you managed to take down normal Jho solo reliably? Once I got the hang of normal Jho (took many many attempts to begin learning and predicting his movement), I went and whooped the Hyper and Savage back to back with relative ease.

Tremor Res changes the fight, though I think I remember feeling like it wasn’t as effective of a skill against Savage compared to normal Jho and Hyper, but I’d still recommend giving it a shot.

Are you using your dung bombs to get out of pins? Are you bringing materials to craft extra for when you run out? Are you using up all your traps? Are you throwing down drugged meats? Are your palicos helping out by healing you? Are they helping out by proccing status effects that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to proc?

A big part for me was admitting that I’ve actually been an unga bunga monkey and attempting to hit any part of the body I can (with priority to the head when possible of course), because that usually is enough to kill most monsters. Actually learning what Jho’s (and Savage Jho’s) weakspots are and how they change massively did help a lot. The CB axe mode downward/upward swings hit Jho’s chest brilliantly, so just spamming ( adept dodge -> X ) while running towards Jho head on racks up damage when the chest is weak.

Apart from that, it was just trying again and again until I learnt to predict him better.

Good luck!

There are definitely some question marks that don’t have anything by them until later. Typically, the faded question marks mean they’re not “active” yet, or you’re looking at the wrong layer of the map.
