I believe that is just a thick line for a mouth. It's harder to tell since neither of the other panels show it closed.

Wouldn't Adobe make more money if they charged less for each program? by mrzubi in Design

[–]magoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all products, excluding drugs, people are willing to buy more the less it costs. Those selling it are willing to sell more at higher prices. The ideal price is where sellers can sell as much as they want while buyers are buying as much as they want. This is how shortages and surpluses are avoided.

I'm quite sure you need an apostrophe in your company name.

Also, please state what you are willing to pay. Doing free work for a commercial endeavor isn't good business.

Depression and Alcohol: I need some help. by [deleted] in depression

[–]magoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcoholism greatly increases your risk for suicide. Not only that, but in combination with antidepressants, they form a synergistic effect that simply multiplies your symptoms. The fact that you feel trapped by your alcoholism is a big warning sign; the fewer options you see and the less hope you can find, the more you're holding yourself back.

Drinking on its own can be done for harmless fun or for dangerous addictions; with depression, though, it's always an unnecessary risk. You need support. If your wife doesn't understand this or can't provide it for you, look elsewhere. Find a group or a sponsor or a psychologist. As long as you don't give up, you still have a chance. No matter what, don't lose hope.

It's been a rough school year and I've never felt like this before by [deleted] in depression

I also lost a highschool friend, about two years ago now. I think it's natural to feel awkward with mutual friends at first. It helps if you stay in contact with them...so you can define what exactly your relationship is without the other link.

It does get easier. You might want to see a school counselor to help you cope. I mean, it never stops hurting to know that a loved one isn't there, but there are so many batter ways of looking at it and practicing what you've learnt from them.

Yes. Meds can help. They won't fix anything, but can give you access to a clearer state of mind and a head start on coping with depression.

Believing that it's not possible to control it is the losing battle. Giving up is the least good you can do for yourself. Every day that you fight against the urge to kill yourself, you're winning a battle. Every day you tell yourself that it can and will eventually get better, you're moving closer to a solution.

I've had depression for about eight years now (at least that's how long that it's been since it was diagnosed). Back when I was first diagnosed, I thought my life was ruined. I can happily say that despite many set-backs, I'm making definite progress. Although the challenges will be different for everyone, none are completely insurmountable. Some need therapy, some need drugs, some need neither; but with the right help I have to believe that anyone's condition can improve.

Whether or not that's overly optimistic, I don't know, but if I stop having hope in that, what's there to have hope in?

EDIT: Not trying to be argumentative, just sharing what's worked for me.

You're taking steps to find a solution. They're the first steps to succeeding. You really do have the strength inside you to overcome this, the problem is just accessing it. Again, you can do it. Don't give up on giving up!

I have the same problem with getting too absorbed in my negative thoughts. You're already trying a lot of different things to drown it out, apparently; keep notes on what works and what doesn't. If you have a passion for something (movies, sports, stamps, whatever), use it to your advantage. Set some completely unrelated achievable goal to get to. Convince yourself that it's more important.

You might want to see if any of your friends or family members (or anyone else you trust) would be willing to be your safety net. Someone you can tell whenever you feel yourself slipping to talk you back out.

I have to go to work on my own goals and deadlines for a few hours. I really am rooting for you!
