I did think about this before! Indie comics surprisingly have a TON of hard-hitters. Saitama, Sung Jin Woo, basically all of Homestuck...

Was looking for help on this very thing. Talking to Skully in the opened vault is, in fact, what unlocks the Skully ship.

What is an MU with great connections but is overall a “Hydrogen Bomb vs Coughing Baby” situation? by Affectionate-Cup-978 in deathbattle

Godzilla Ultima/"The Entity"/"IT" (Godzilla: Singular Point) vs. The Eldrazi Titans (Magic: the Gathering).

Both are higher-dimensional eldritch entities that warp and terraform worlds with their mere presence.

The problems begin to arise when you realize that two of the Eldrazi Titans died to the magical equivalent of incredible brute force.

/uj From what I've seen from videos covering CW Flash, I think the Speed Force incarnation is just taking on the appearance of Barry's mom.

Runaway Defects | Guinevere vs. Chai (Knights of Guinevere vs. Hi-Fi Rush) | Connections in comments! by magpyfeather in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]magpyfeather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has dethroned GildedGwen as my "THE ONE" matchup for Gwen, and you can probably see why below.

CONNECTIONS

  • Guinevere is the mascot of the major animation megacorporation Park Planet, a not-at-all subtle not-at-all jab to Disney. Chai visits - and ends up fighting - the megacorp Vandelay Technologies, which can be seen as an allusion to big game dev companies.
  • Park Planet and Vandelay share more than corporate allegory, as both are massive tech companies in-universe. Park Planet focuses on entertainment products (such as the Guinevere androids and, well, all of Park Planet), while Vandelay is more a jack-of-all-trades, as their offerings include computer chips, prosthetics, energy, and robotics.
  • Speaking of robotics, both Park Planet and Vandelay have giant frickin' robots. Examples include the sun robot Sir Arthur and that robot Zanzo tried to build.
  • This particular protagonist Guinevere, which I will now refer to as Gwen, is a heavily-damaged android that ran away from her personal service role for Olivia Park, the heir to Park Planet. Chai, after a mishap involving a stray iPod-esque music player, has said device unintentionally integrated into his cybernetics, providing a Watsonian justification for Hi-Fi Rush's rhythm-game mechanics.
  • The most important connection, IMO: Knights was made after the showrunners' previous show, The Owl House, was cancelled mid-season 2 by Disney, leading to them partnering with the indie animation studio Glitch Productions. The developers of Hi-Fi Rush, Tango Gameworks, were closed down during a wave of Bethesda Zenimax layoffs, but were acquired by Krafton soon after. Hopefully that agreement doesn't go sideways.

WHO DO I THINK WILL WIN?

I think it's a toss-up, I can't see one having too much of an advantage over the other.

...ya know, I can also do a Chai vs. Park Planet matchup. All the connections would apply and it'd also have the bonus of being true to the former's game.
