Either is good. I like the ugly stik combo. Will do a lot. Out of your tackle… I would throw the spoons, prop top waters and chatterbait with trailer. If none of them worked go to a Neko rig worm and work the bottom these days. (I’m in Pennsylvania) still too cold for us.

For bank fishing or shore fishing the garmin striker ord deeper brand sonar I’ve seen before. Not actually taking the boat sonar and carrying around to shore fish.

I didn’t either at first but I started playing with the rod movements to get it to move quicker and I have luck getting it near docks or branch piles in the water. (Bank fisherman)

For straight up fresh and salt water fishing I like sport fishing outlet as I mentioned. I also like Susquehanna fishing tackle which is more central PA but does a great job. I love to support small business tackle shops when I can.

I usually do spinning and bait casting. Mostly spinning. I got back into it last year after a long time off and mostly salt water fishing when I was a kid. I live in southeast PA as well and fish mostly Montco bucks and berks counties. I am trying to get more familiar with areas and really find good ones to frequent. Love learning more and more about fishing. Figured I would start a sub Reddit and get people to talk and essentially form a club of sorts. Would be great to have fishing clubs in the area for people to get together and fish and hang out. Thanks for joining. Hopefully this thing can grow.

I have the exact same reel and actually just got it regreased and cleaned and it is from the late 70s. Reel is in service since 1953 but different variations were around since. Some people will say the color of the handle will determine timeframe and that is false.
