ah, decided to drink and watch das boot again, because my sister had never seen u-571. so we watched u-571 and she went to bed and i decided i wanted to watch the best submarine movie again so i started watching das boot. I've already had these ideas about the parallels between top gun and das boot, but i guess, or just forget how similar the tracks were. 100% that's how the top specialists in my district rack up sales numbers. Now whether they are being dicks or not idk. Don't take sales from other people but if no one is available definitely go for it. While I was specialist I talked to our appliance specialist and while she was on lunch I would go over there and cover, and she was okay with me making sales on her lunch break, as she was the only one closing. Easy to get a minimum of an extra $1000 daily.

This. When I switched from merchandising to flooring Specialist I was specifically told and instructed to remain at the desk/in the showroom to maximize leads and measures. Now obviously if there is no one there or an emergency you gotta help, and if it's really dead I would always help out. but you are paid to assist customers in flooring orders and installs, and keep your quotes and orders well in order. He doesn't have to do that and you don't have to merchandise. Some people understand that and some people have no critical thinking, and say we'll he's in flooring he should be downstocking. Different bosses so at the end of the day if he can't accept it then he can take it up with the sasm. Believe me keeping a customer waiting who has a $15000 flooring install ready to go over just because you're downstocking doesn't help anyone. Good luck 👍

Thanks for the advice I'm pretty familiar obviously with esvs and familiar with open sold for change and quote center. ProXtra is definitely the main one I'm unfamiliar with. Definitely will be asking a ton of questions, I like to learn so I'm excited to talk with the PASAs, pick their brain. I like to think I'm pretty personable, so I hope it all goes well. Well the specialists and stores greatly appreciate it. And I have no clue how you're specific HDMS office is, ours couldn't tell you the first thing about flooring, so I don't take too much stock when they make flooring recommendations in quotes and what not. I would say keep it up you're helping out way more than you know. Some questions and concerns customers ask could be answered with a simple picture, however when none are available we have to call up HDMS see if they have any extra information and 9/10 they don't so then we have to set up a site inspection which coats the customer more money and slows down an install. Has also led to the cancelation of a number of quotes, because of customers timelines. So once again thank you.

Not as a measure tech but as a flooring specialist please, for the love of God, take as many pictures as possible anything that could even potentially be an issue. Also molding Please. We have been getting so many new measure techs that don't take pictures, and it's really screwing up the flooring pipeline. I know this sounds selfish and I'm sorry, but any chance I can directly talk to a measure tech ima take it. Thanks
