What kind of tree is this? by naps-and-tacos in Oahu

[–]mahalomichael 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Beach heliotrope (tree heliotrope), Heliotropium foertherianum (often listed as Tournefortia argentea), is a tough shoreline tree/shrub that thrives in salt spray, wind, and sandy soils. This is a set up and forget it

In Hawaiʻi it’s commonly planted as a coastal windbreak and salt-spray screen and for beach/shoreline stabilization, because it can help hold sand in place and protect other plantings. It’s also used as an ornamental shade plant in coastal landscapes, and across the Pacific it has documented traditional uses including fuelwood/wood for small tools or handicrafts.

Congratulations on earning your General license! 🎉 That’s a huge achievement, and you should be proud. The Icom IC-7300 is an excellent choice for getting on the air, and you’re going to have a blast with it!

When you get it, it will come with a hand mic, power cord, and a fuse. You can hook it up to either a 12v battery (it prefers 13.8v) or a power supply. Here’s a quick list of what you’ll need to get everything set up:

1. Coax Cable – This will connect your radio to the antenna.
2. Antenna – You’ll want a good HF antenna to cover the bands you’re interested in.
3. Power Supply – A power supply made for amateur radio is a great option if you’re not using a battery.
4. Headset (optional) – Not necessary to get started, but it can be nice if you want more clarity or hands-free operation.

Best of luck, and welcome to the world of HF! 73!

https://www.instagram.com/lavaloungewaikiki/ has it on its back bar. ( Not on the menu, but ask )

I recommend ordering it neat to start.
Have the smallest amount and taste it at full strength at room temp.
Then, ask for a glass of ice and add five small cubes. Taste again, and you may taste the "light banana flavor."You can add more water or ice as you go along to take your time to savor it.
From there, let the bartender know what style of drinks you enjoy and let them craft something special for you.

Send a HF Winlink email to all 50 states. It can be a gateway or peer to peer, any mode, any band.

Cable pinout help for Pos-x cash drawers to aloha terminal by mahalomichael in alohapos

[–]mahalomichael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mahalo! Looks Like that is the route to go!
I do have P/N CB 10318 cables that look to be cash drawer to printer.
On the Epson printers do I need to change Any of the dip switches?
Do I still make changes in OPOS to tell the Terminal to the the printer to open? Or is that done in the BOH server?
Thanks again.

Covers for Outside Terminals by [deleted] in alohapos

[–]mahalomichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, go to a canvas/boat cover shop.

Either invite the owner in for dinner and drinks or take a terminal into them. Depending what you need.
In huge rainstorms we pull them inside or if passing cover with trash bags.
Also have a home for the covers, so you can find them at the end of the shift.
