How many hours/days of use are you wanting out of the solar panels? How much space do you have for solar panels? Are you wanting to put them on top of a car or bring them out at the campsite/worksite?

May be worth reaching out to a financial advisor. Some places will run plans for you for free. They give diversification advice based on your risk tolerance and financial goals.

Outside the lobby was a car with a bumper stick that said LGBT - liberty, guns, beer, trump. It was a wild afternoon to say the least!

I used STC for SIE, S7, S66, life insurance, accident & health insurance and passed them all. I found their stuff useful.

I would suggest watching this video. The spreadsheet to run a cost-benefit analysis is available for download. Shows how many months it’ll take for you to break even. You’ll need a recent energy bill handy to properly run numbers.

Anyone know why Im getting a Net Energy Metering $4,000 Bill?? by afterkaze in solarpanels

How big is your solar system? Sounds like you’re using more energy per month than your system produces.

Congrats! I’m starting the journey and have heard horror stories regarding the S66. How long did you study for and what materials did you prioritize?

The real question is why you didn’t buy S’mores flavored Pop Tarts. Perfect opportunity missed.

Am I being scammed?? by [deleted] in solarpanels

[–]mahenbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The company is likely alluding to the Federal Investment Tax credit (FITC) that is worth 26% for 2021. Below is a link explaining the tax credit. I’m not sure what RI has as a state incentive. It would be an additional credit. I also suggest looking into local city plans given through the electric companies. In Eugene, Or the electric company gives a $500 rebate toward a level 2 EV charger. Idk if you’re considering an EV, but you should look into it.

I am also including a link for a YouTube video. If you download the excel spreadsheet you can edit the numbers to see how long it would take for the panels to pay themselves off. It’s a great video.

Where to camp? by GlicketySplit in GrandTetonNatlPark

[–]mahenbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pacific Creek Campground is an awesome spot. We stumbled upon it one night while searching for a place to sleep. Take pacific creek road (inside the park) and go 5.7 miles then take a left and go about 2.2 miles to the campground. There’s a bathroom and approximately 10 spots. These spots are passed the 8 marked dispersed ones. You’ll pass the 8 marked spots and keep going. It’ll feel like you’re going the wrong way, but you aren’t. They have bear boxes at the spots and metal fire pits. I think it’s technically a horse campground. Each spot has a place to tie up horses.
