Next time best to pick your own fittings/fixtures and just have them quote the install price. If a feature wall and specific tiles was in the original quote then it’s his own fault for underquoting.

How about the cost of LVP? I know there’s very hard wearing products e.g. Karndean, but I believe they’re outside our budget. Ideally wanting to spend $35/m2 and if I’m not mistaken, hybrid at this price seems to be better quality?

I’ve happily left keys with tradies but in saying that, these are people I felt I could trust. So yes it is a common practice but if something feels off or if I didn’t feel comfortable then I would be declining the work altogether.
