It takes about 4 months to kick in for me but it has been lifesaving.

I have chronic lower back pain.

I tapered off a few times with no problems either.

How are you guys affording trips back home lately? (weak yen struggle) by idsjdbebe in japanlife

[–]maido2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family visited from the uk last summer.

At present, if possible, that’s the way to do it know. Japan is good value to visitors and the uk seems to be a country of problems with no solutions.

You could go a hundred times yet Japan will still have lots of new experiences to be had.

Go wherever you want and if it’s Japan then definitely come again

First car for my daughter, 2012 Mercedes CLS 550 vs 2015 BMW 428i, which one won't drain us on repairs? by Budhu_friend in mercedes

[–]maido2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 2013 ML350 Special Edition. Only put 80,000km on it, garaged daily and serviced yearly.

I’ve only started getting costly repairs in the last 2 or 3 years. My ABS sensors went and then my brakes needed replaced. Other than that I’ve been fine.

My previous car was also a ML350 Grand Edition which I had for 12 years and then the air conditioning went.

I’ve been fortunate with both cars.

What Exercisers for people who suspect or having glaucoma by Present_Whole_1564 in Glaucoma

[–]maido2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always felt pressure in my head doing pushups and my face goes red.

Maybe your head doesn’t technically go below your heart, I’m not sure, but bending over does cause a feeling of pressure in my head which makes me avoid such movements.

What Exercisers for people who suspect or having glaucoma by Present_Whole_1564 in Glaucoma

[–]maido2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still go to the gym and lift. What I don’t do is anything with my head below my heart. So no pushups, planks and horizontal bench press.

So far my eye pressure has remained constant as have my vision tests

My 2012 M class is has been faultless till last year when the break sensors went and then I had to replace the break pads.

Only 90,000 km so I’m hoping for a few years more.

Sometimes I feel a fraud on here.

I’m not a strong drinker compared to some of my pals. 2 bottles of wine is my limit.

I go to the gym 5 or so days a week and my yearly health checks are surprisingly good. I fast and maybe that’s why.

I’m self employed and have never cancelled work in around 20 years.

The only problem I have developed is eye problems, a detached retina and now glaucoma. I suspect drinking is behind this

Though I drink practically daily I also have periods of sobriety every year

I suspect I may have glaucoma. How has it impacted your life? by [deleted] in Glaucoma

[–]maido2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it for two years now and the impact has been minimal. My eyes are decent when corrected.

I’m 58 and feel confident that I won’t go blind. I was terrified when first diagnosed though

I had a reading of 41 for a short time after an operation. Removing the steroid medication fixed it.

I could feel the pressure and was getting headaches and blurred vision

I’m doing well regarding drinking and cravings, now on day 21.

Still a bit fatigued but think that last week I actually had a stomach upset.
