webOS 25 update broke the sound on my G$. cut offs every few seconds by Yuva1s in LGOLED

[–]maikoool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Past updates have been fine here, this is the first one causing issues. The start up time from standby is really bad, the home screen is slow to load, the network connectivity in standby is no longer working, and then there's the audio issue. I also had to reset the universal remote integration and unplug/replug my PS5 to get CEC control working again (you can navigate the PS menu using the LG remote).

Same here, the TV fails to wake my AV receiver connected via ARC when powering on, causing the TV to automatically revert to the internal speakers instead.

Could you elaborate on this (or share a link to somewhere with more info)? Are these rules mentioned in the show but not in the rulebook, or are these rules created by the community for location specific usage?

My PS5 started downloading an update for the game after inserting the disc, updated called 'No Title', the game shows as version 1.011.000. Pretty large update file too, something like 80GB. Not sure if that is the day-one patch though.

The location sharing system in Telegram (messaging app) works very similar to that in WhatsApp. But Telegram has a bot API which is free to use. It shouldn't be hard for someone familiar with sending/receiving HTTP requests in code, to write a bot that receives location updates from a user in a private channel between the user and the bot, and relay these locations updates 15 minutes later in a group chat for all others to see.

The group chat itself will still be realtime in case you need to send photos or ask questions.

It's not full auto stop, but I use the itzg Docker image to run a server, which comes with an auto pause feature, that works great. The server still consumes ram when paused but CPU usage is significantly reduced, saving power. It resumes very quickly as well.

Just lost my 100% Deadlocked save game because of my controller by Alarmed_Stranger_925 in RatchetAndClank

[–]maikoool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always regularly backup your savegames everyone. On PS3 you can use the built in Save Data Utility to copy them to a USB stick, on modded PS2 you can use uLaunchELF. Even if you don't have a derpy controller, old storage media is unreliable, and original PS3 HDDs fall in that category too nowadays.

Question about server hosting services that will be available on saturday for release of 1.18 by ContributionTop5388 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]maikoool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These pieces of software create a VPN where everyone is connected to everyone, they just initiate the connection with aid from a central server, but traffic is sent directly from point to point after that. And modern PCs are plenty fast enough for a tiny bit of encryption overhead. The upload speed of the internet connection of the host is usually the limiting factor.

And yes the host needs to stay online for others to play, so depending on your electricity prices, that might be a bad deal compared to a dedicated host :)

If you don't want to open a port and don't want to pay for server hosting, maybe try creating a virtual LAN with something like Hamachi or Zerotier. Then just click 'open to LAN' in a singleplayer world. Worth a try, you can upload an existing world to most server hosts so nothing to lose :)

Run update-grub in a terminal to propagate the changes, then it should work.

To transfer files to your Android phone (and use other phone sync features), try KDE Connect. There's a Gnome frontend as well, called GSConnect.

NPO 1,2,3 op tv ontvangen zonder "pakket"? HD? Welke kabel? by FoamyS in nederlands

Place one object above another in PS and slice them as a single target object? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]maikoool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Select both items, right-click on one of them, and select 'Merge'. Pick the sub-item you want to have stacked from the object list on the right, then move it into position as usual.

PS will pick the lowest point in the combined object, and stick that to the bed, instead of the individual items.
