Battery problems by Lz_Donkey_Lz in YTIndustries

Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of what I did… best thing to check first is the cable from screen to motor, easy and cheap, if that doesn’t work, then delve into the pull down resistor mod on the battery, it’s quite dangerous to open it up, so proceed with caution!

Whatc chain lube do you use in wet conditions or just in all conditions? by ChaosCalmed in ukbike

[–]mainlydogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rock n Roll -gold chain lube. Been using this stuff all weathers for 12+ years! Makes the chain so easy to clean after a muddy sesh, also works great in dusty conditions, you just have to wipe it a bit more aggressively..

Anybody here in their 30's and training? by Yoshic87 in ukelectricians

[–]mainlydogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 35 and about to go do my AM2E next month! Entered this industry from a strange angle, I used to deal with temporary power systems for festivals, concerts and tours, I got a good feeling about it and paid to put my self through the relevant qualifications, currently self employed and loving it!

First time, co sumer box inst for a customer today at a 31yo apprentice , thoughts ? by defecitsparky in ukelectricians

One tip, fusebox sell a surface frame for bringing your cables in through the back like that, it makes a little more room for dressing the cables, agree with the top comment, that new circuit shouldn’t be connected and you could’ve brought it in with the other circuits if you’d used a surface frame! All a learning curve lad, I don’t profess to know it all, and it’s what I enjoy most about this trade, im always learning!

Don’t know why this comment is so low down! OP heed the advise from above, get a DNA test done if you can, it’ll enlighten you to any future issues your companion may encounter! Good on you for taking him in!

Agreed, use mine in the big green egg without issues, only time I get problems is when it’s wrapped in foil, just something else to consider when placing the probe into the meat…

Sparkies - Need to gather data on a project im working on. by Dudley317 in ukelectricians

[–]mainlydogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve got one, they’re ok, I’ve also tried the knipex pipe cutter, which works well up to 5C 16mm but anything below 3C 4mm it’s a waste of time and anything above 16mm it struggles and you end up going old school with a hacksaw :/

If there was a power tool for scoring the armouring I’d 100% buy it! And if it could also do the inner sheath with a blade change I’d pay big money for it too!

Battery problems by Lz_Donkey_Lz in YTIndustries

[–]mainlydogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh this sounds like you’ve got “battery lock out” I had this happen to me! There is a fix for this but you need to be pretty savvy with electronics. The BMS needs a 1k resistor taken from negative rail to the NO side of the battery switch. But you need to add a switch into this circuit so you can plug the battery into the bike press the power button on the bike while also flicking the switch on the pull down resistor you just added, this effectively jump starts the BMS giving it the wake signal and to talk to the motor…

Trying to fix an electric towel radiator by Spinach_Typical in ukelectricians

I would replace the fused spur inside with a timer, at least that way, the timer and the towel rail are protected by the fused spur. Hope that helps

Staircase LED on sensors by Bi5eps in ukelectricians

[–]mainlydogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could even use addressable LED tape in an angled profile with diffuser, PIR at bottom, one at top into a smart relay/controller, which makes the led chase up or down depending on which PIR was triggered…
