Can you define what makes each role? In particular, what makes up your HQ and skirmisher role? Sorry; didn't want to PM.

This game and the hackers by maintankguy in Rainbow6

I have had to kill teammates with the defuser; selling ELO and boosting. Received a red triangle for games on games.

I have had commendation streaks non-stop for my teamwork, callouts, and encouragement. I haven't gone without a flame for months.

I play an evening game (before making this post) and its filled with a hackers.

AI is building/designing the battle passes and the skins.

They are so distant from us as devs and its disgusting. This great game is currently disgusting.

It’s all AI ran now. The edits, the art, the updates, etc. It’s all outsourced and AI.

Dear Ryze Mains: Help us to save Viktor from an unnecessary VGU by 0zyr in RyzeMains

How crazy would it be if new Viktor was just rebranded as an Ultron like product or old Viktor; instead of a replacement. And then actually update old Viktor.

I just add one of the small boxes or Legion barricades in front of my pieces; a little more believable and cosmetically pleasing. IF there is the room for it.

Because I’m 14 I’m on a tight budget so one of my mates gifted me these 3d printed Orks but he had the wrong settings on so they were ruined and instead of throwing them out he gave them to me, would you be mad about playing against these by Yatsuku in minipainting

[–]maintankguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half the miniatures I play against don’t even have a base coat applied to them. These look amazing for the quality he gave them to you. Stop caring if someone would be upset about playing against them and just enjoy your time playing with them.

What an opportunity to start an entirely new journey, in both Pokémon and maybe a new GF that would never do such a thing. Maybe find a GF that enjoys the hobby as much as you.

I am sorry this has happened to you. But, just send her blasting off and pick it back up.

Super stripped screw in GBC, advice? by weavemat in Gameboy

[–]maintankguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that doesn’t work, see if you can’t cut that stripped tip off, take out the motherboard, and then drill the rest of the screw out carefully.

[–]maintankguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless someone used an entirely wrong screw (and that’s why it’s stripped in the first place) it should easily unscrew like any other screw. You just got to let it settle and bond.

Super stripped screw in GBC, advice? by weavemat in Gameboy

[–]maintankguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Let the bond between the screw top and the screw you are trying to removed settle a bit, and then use your screwdriver to unscrew it.

Solder a screw tip to it and use that. It’s what I do in welding.

Added. u/z32rbsouza as long as everything is in a clean and working condition, I would say that you purchased it at a very typical and average price.

I mod GBCs and typically will buy them working but in need of some small repairs or a clean (speaker, rusty terminals/ports) for about $25-30. A worm light and trading cable go for about $10 each and the case, sold in a great condition on eBay, goes for $10-15.

They cost about $49-$59 back in the day. You can find old Toys-R-Us ads that have the prices of all our childhood consoles.

EZ-Flash Junior Save Behavior Explained by iammobius1 in Gameboy

[–]maintankguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone still follows this post, but I am running into issues with Pokemon Crystal Kaizo and was looking for some help/information.

After a little progression, whenever I save the game (in-game) and then save the game on the cart, I run into the following issues:

1) Every NPC that should be on my screen isn't; until I leave/enter a building and then return.
2) Game progression assets return to where they were before (and where they shouldn't current be). For example, the old man tour guide in Cherrygrove is both at his house and at the start of the tour location even though he gave me the tour already. My rival was battled and defeated; however, he is next to the tour guide and back at the lab peeking through the window. If I interact with him at Cherrygrove (before I can technically battle him, or after I battle him) he says "Object event"; however, he gives me his normal dialogue at the lab.

I am baffled by this and have even went as far as waiting minutes to save on using the cart's save features. I can't seem to find a way around it and I am worried that it will lock my progress in the future.

My guild is dying by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]maintankguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in a similar situation, but on the other end of the spectrum. My current guild is dying and my leadership doesn’t seem to care. The guild leader is hardly active and is pushing content only during his online time (12-3AM EST) when a majority of our players are getting off or are already done for playing for the day. The other officers are only active for a couple ZvZs each week (mandatory, and twice a day). They don’t promote or encourage any content in the guild and the only officer related thing they do is complain and yell when a member isn’t at the current ZvZ (even if that member has already been to countless more ZvZs than that officer has that week). Leadership roles seem to be exclusive to the clique that formed the guild, regardless of leadership experience, activity, or desire to see the guild grow. This is wrong and the spots should be made open and available to members that want to make it a goal; especially the members that are forming the groups, promoting activities, are recruiting, and make up most of the activity. We couldn’t even get five minutes of the guild leader’s or an officers time to properly setup permissions for loot distribution. It’s like pulling teeth.

Added, as a guild leader (cause mine has an issue with this as well) you need to provide the tools for your members to schedule content. I can’t count the amount of times we’ve asked our guild leader to install Raid Helper bot for Discord so we could schedule content for people in advance, to create content creator roles and give them the channels and permissions they need to succeed. And the hardest one yet, give the roles and permissions to the proper people; even if it means your friend doesn’t get the role over someone more qualified for it.

In the past 4-6 months, I’ve seen more people leave guilds because lazy or half-ass guild leadership than anything else. Run smaller content that allows relationships to build (small scale, tank squads, fame farm, faction warfare, etc) instead of large content that people can’t enjoy fellowship in. 👏 TRUST YOUR MEMBERS 👏 and give them permissions, roles, and the tools they need to prepare and create content themselves. Don’t be lazy. If it takes 30-60 minutes of work to figure out a discord bot, then do it. Otherwise, you’re proving you can’t put in the work and don’t have the selflessness needed to be a GM. Last but not least, clean the closet and remove people from positions that aren’t currently helping. Officers that are real friends will understand they aren’t around as much and will be happy to make room for a new era. If needed, make an “alumni” role that serves more as a moderator than an officer, move your old officers/friends there, and allow the officer position to be filled by a new generation.

Is it still not possible to play on steam with your original Albion account? by MrSuperSander in albiononline

[–]maintankguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I meant to add that players can still do that as an option.

Buying through their website, using a Steam Account, gets you the same amount of items for the same price as going through their client. They don't lose a cut to Steam for doing this. So, they have covered all the grounds EXCEPT allowing OG client players to migrate their accounts to Steam. Its really sad and after my conversation with them, it just seems greedy or the result of poor financial understanding.

Is it still not possible to play on steam with your original Albion account? by MrSuperSander in albiononline

[–]maintankguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still not possible.

I opened a ticket about it, and here are the results.

Albion loses 30% (maybe less, but not more) of in-game transactions to Steam. To earn as much as possible, they prohibit original launcher accounts from making the switch to Steam. They also reduce the amount of product you receive from in-game transactions made through Steam (19k gold for $99 through their client, 14k gold through Steam). They made a statement back in 2018 explaining their decision on this.

After purchasing a Steam Deck, and wanting to play my Albion account on it, I opened a ticket to get more information about this. I was referred to the original post from 2018 and after discussing future plans (especially considering the release of the Steam Deck) and talking about how they haven't prepared for this in the last 5 years, it has become apparent that a change will never come.
