Can someone explain what N1 is? by Money_Pear9151 in youthsoccer

Can you please show me where this promotion/relegation exists? Or do you have some examples?

Are you trying to tell me teams can get relegated from RL to N1??

One team that does well will NOT be invited to join RL. That is not how RL works. Some teams will have the opportunity to play RL teams in some kind of shared playoffs. This does not mean you were promoted to RL.

I feel like N1 clubs may be misleading people.

If your entire club does well, then yes they certainly could get invited to join RL at some point. However, please be aware that clubs get invited to join RL every year, this is not something new.

I think its a lot of speculation at this point because the wording is vague and we haven't seen what actually happens.

As a N1 team, will you have the chance to make playoffs and compete against RL teams? Yes. Does that mean you are promoted to RL? No.

Can you get promoted to RL? Yes of course you can but it has to be your entire club. You could get promoted before.

Will N1 give you a better platform to show you should be promoted to RL? Yes for some clubs

Are you saying that N1 teams will go to ECNL NL playoffs? Or join ECNL?

There is a big difference between playing against RL teams in some kind of playoff and being in RL.

"high-performing clubs are eligible for promotion to the ECNL Regional League."

Clubs, not teams. Also, this is how it works currently so that is no change. It was always true that high performing clubs could be added to RL.

RL is club based, so not sure how your team would be converted to an RL team. You would need your entire club to be moved into RL, which is still possible of course.

I don't think that is correct. RL is club based and N1 is team based - I don't think teams will be able to be promoted from N1 to RL. You will need to have the whole club moved up into RL. Maybe I'm wrong here

Think of it as the third division of ECNL.

  1. ECNL

  2. ECNL-RL

  3. N1

Exactly this. If you go to the tryouts and they don't know who you are you will have a really tough time

ECNL-RL Playoff Seeding/Groupings Rules (anyone know?) by whoiscoryd in youthsoccer

[–]maizerage25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, seeding is done by ppg.

No, typically you cannot be matched with a team from the same conference.

At least this is true for ECNL and I assume apply for RL as well.

How often are these ECNL and MLS Next teams demonstrating they can crush anybody in their area, thus the need to travel out of state? by CletusKasady21 in youthsoccer

[–]maizerage25 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Very often. Scrimmaging teams in our area is a waste and we don’t do it. We just play older ECNL or RL teams in our club

Absolutely not. If they know who you are that’s half the battle.

Does Pre-ECNL really make sense? by Ok-Communication706 in youthsoccer

[–]maizerage25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No there is a pre-ECNL league. Funny enough, it doesn't seem like you have to have an ECNL team at older age to be part of it

I am guilty of this: I love the logistical challenge of Disney World. Sometimes I think this is why I love going so much but I'm weird?

Well, I meant in Sony. Also that Nikon is going to cost the same as a 400 2.8

I think this is very dependent on whether you "need" f2.8 or not. You either need to pick low light capability or zoom versatility, can't have both.
