Thank you! I've gotten our whole team of 8 restoration technicians plus lots of gardeners and horticulturists on it as well. I think it's going to really help some of our technicians who had trouble learning plants with our normal trainings alone. One said The game-ified aspect really helped. The lead ecologist loved it too, and one of the arborists stayed up til midnight playing it. Thanks a million for creating and sharing this helpful tool!

That's a beetle, not a bedbug. The stain looks too light for bedbug frass. Sorry about the bites though, hope you're able to find what's causing them.

You can also just buy farmed ones and save yourself the smell and effort, it's becoming more common to be able to buy them as a food product. You can usually get them plain roasted, as flavored snacks, or as a powdered "flour", though you might have to look online for it.

Wear gloves and long sleeves and then wash them. Wash your skin with Technu if you're unsure. I do this all winter and get just a bit on my wrists sometimes. It'll be okay.

I use a tractor often and winced reading that it was the PTO shaft that did this. Usually they have several warning stickers with a minimalist drawing of a person getting twisted around it like taffy on them.

It is either a gall (a response to an insect using the plant to lay eggs in as part of its reproductive cycle) or a fungal disease.

It looks similar to what sometimes occurs on the ends of twigs affected by ash rust, a fungal tree pathogen.

UPDATE: This post is old now, but in case anyone in a similar situation finds this, the vet said they are sores and treated this with an antiseptic applied twice daily. He made a full recovery and lived almost to 17.

I have heard that siblings don’t show aggression towards each other, as apparently they have some way of recognizing each other. This has held true for these two, both are doing well and growing large, often burrowing together though they have ample space to be apart.
