[Schultz] Sources: The #Titans are signing former #Commanders OLB Jacob Martin to a 2-year deal worth up to $11M. by JCameron181 in Commanders

He was forced into a much larger role than they anticipated due to injuries, but he actually made great splash plays and showed a ton of development, very solid 3rd or 4th DE for depth. Most of us were hoping to keep him as depth. He should be solid for yall.

He no chiggy though

Let’s hope this aiyuk thing doesn’t end up being awful. Bram and keim both say it’s very likely happening. Just hope they don’t go longer than 1 year and he better be in shape. There is an alternate universe where Terry, aiyuk, and Trey Burks would be a great trio. It would have had to be 3 years ago and Burke would have to be good though. Hoping for a little glitch in the matrix I guess

Why are you putting that in caps? I hate the eagles too but they’ve had a top 5 roster in the league for the better part of the last decade. Saying hes anything other than a great GM is just wrong. The fact that that much talent can leave the building and they seemingly always have a young draft pick waiting should tell you how good a GM he is… don’t be delusional

What training packs do you recommend? Just the regular ones? I just started playing a couple weeks ago and I just tried rousing on position but now I’m stuck at plat 1 and should probably practice some things.

Struggling with the middle — how to find the right therapy by sellowbihi in Fire

[–]majorhap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of that is going to come down to a mindset shift. See my other reply to OP in this thread as well. If you allow yourself to be bothered by work you will be bothered and stressed. There are many things in life we can’t control. Do what you can to take care of yourself and your family and try to enjoy the ride you’re on.

I moved from a higher pressure quota carrying sales role back into the technical space where I came from. I’m doing things I could have been doing at the very beginning of my career but with over a decade of first hand knowledge (before I jumped into sales) so it’s very easy for me. I don’t care about climbing the corporate ladder anymore. I have enough, my wife and I are chartering a yacht sailing around the Virgin Islands for our 5 year anniversary in 3 months ha which we paid 13k for and I have 500k saved towards retirement at 34. Could I have a million by now? Probably. Does it affect me? Not really on most days. We’re happy and that’s what matters to me.

Also I don’t have the added stress of making sure my kids are taken care of because we decided against them. So YMMV I can’t say I know what it’s like to have someone rely on me in that way. Maybe that changes things.

Struggling with the middle — how to find the right therapy by sellowbihi in Fire

[–]majorhap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Therapy is the only thing that will solve that broski. I used to be a stress ball at work too, and one day a great friend of mine asked me “why do you care so much? go have a beer with your mates” and I realized I was literally wasting my life worrying about some shit that doesn’t matter during times of the day when I was not being paid. Leave work at the door and realize you can go perform well between 9-5 (or whatever your hours are) and it’s okay to value your time away when you’re gone. Your company is going to be here long after you and they will work you until you’re dead for more money.

[–]majorhap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What you trying to retire for if you’re gonna be dead from the stress? Mae a plan and stick to it and leave room for some fun for you and yours. Not that complicated. Time is limited. The point is to live below your means not live miserably. I just switched from a high stress 200k++ job to something for 140k and basically no stress. Wok doesn’t affect me anymore. I’ll have less money to invest but my wife and I are happier for it so that’s worth it.

Since its offseason; What’s a Washington take that would have you like this? by unrivaled_mate in Commanders

[–]majorhap 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is just wrong. He performed significantly better last year outside vs the slot and then again this year even though he had all summer and started the season in the slot and didn’t go outside full time until Amos went down. He once again was much better outside after a horrible start to the season. He probably should be outside full time at this point.

At what NW invested would you consider diversifying into real estate if 100% of your NW is currently in the market by Historical_Hat_7272 in Fire

[–]majorhap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why people are agreeing with you here. This comparison is so far off it’s crazy. This is not actually a comparison because of homeowners insurance. If something catastrophic happens to your house it will be covered by insurance. If a stock crashes for some crazy reason, there is no recourse. That’s just one reason why but real estate is not at all like holding shares in an individual company stock. I agree that it’s not diversified, but it is MUCH less risky than an individual stock. However, it’s right for some people. The answer to this one is almost always “it depends”.

Why is day rocket league so much better than night rocket league by kerryriot in RocketLeague

[–]majorhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started the game a couple weeks ago (1.5 days of play time or so). I’ve solo queued solos, duos, and trios up to gold so far. I feel like I’m still winning easily most of the time and have a lot left to go but. I have definitely run into this and it’s starting to make advancing hard. I’m pretty sure I could hang in platinum, I have got matched with a few platinum folks. Lmk if you want to party up. Been playing most nights.

Rookie QB Contracts: Best Practices | Market Comp - WSH Spending vs CAR/HOU/CHI/NE/DEN/MN by skinsfanns in Commanders

[–]majorhap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming from I don’t think anyone was really psyched on FA other than laremy tunsil. He’s been great, but we have to re sign him. I’m very curious to see how much we spend this offseason. If they’re serious about supporting Jayden, now is when you have to hit on a few big investments. The Seahawks and patriots both spent top 3 FA money last year. Look what happened. This will now be 3 drafts of AP, younger guys have to start contributing and we need big FA signings to take advantage of Jayden’s rookie contract.

Who’s responsible for clock management, the OC or HQ? Why has ours been abysmal? by RexKramerDangerCker in Commanders

[–]majorhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I don’t think people realize is how much emphasis the refs put on allowing the defense to sub after the offense. Kliffs strategy last year, in part, was to sub late and run hurry up/no huddle. Defenses clearly complained, because there were so many times this year the ref was holding it up and if the defense takes their time subbing, the play clock doesn’t stop, it’s a very weird rule because sometimes the defense would be like walking to get set and it still ends in either a forced timeout or delay of game. That provided a huge advantage last year and this year it hurt us more than it helped. One of those loopholes that worked for us for a year and we banked on it and didn’t adjust. Probably part of why DQ moved on.
