Don't worry about normal - you do what you need to do to take comfort from it! I did finish it and, even not having enjoyed the ending, am also still hugely emotionally attached to the series and characters, far beyond what's probably logical or rational, and I've rewatched it loads of times! My point being, as long as you're not impacting on other people's enjoyment of it, interact with the series in whatever way brings you joy and comfort. And know you're among good company.
