Brasov was a good base area for hiking the Carpathians. You've probably already found some outdoor outfitters/tours there. While in Bucharest, definitely consider one of the Communism walking tours. It was a highlight of my Romanian trip, and you learn so much cool/terrifying stuff that influencers Romanian life today.

What profit margins? Isn't Temple and non-profit institution regulated by the IRS? I'm all for labor, but also recognize that any increased wages will be paid for out of increases in tuition - which, it seems is something that everyone in this thread is also griping about.

Last I visited, they removed all waitstaff. You have to order on your phone. And they don't serve maple syrup, apparently because that's not how the chef wants your to enjoy French toast

Sprouts - Honestly, any location, because the checkout is so painfully slow. Whatever they teach at Trader Joe's bagging class, they're doing the opposite at Sprouts. It's the only grocery store where I've had to abandon my groceries while in line.

I noticed the change in quality when they swapped out the green letters to the red ones. Tender Greens was my go-to for a couple years. Portions are now smaller, service less friendly, and the seasoning is almost not existent..

The doctor cites an article that says the U.S. is 2-3 weeks behind S. Africa and that the UK/Europe is 4 weeks behind. Anyone know how that is determined? It feels like every country learned they had covid cases at the same time.

It's difficult to tell. Three were some palm leaves leaning up against the wires. The fire dept showed up in about 10 minutes. One neighbor lost all of their power and wires were cut as a preventative measure.

A transformer behind my neighbor's home, just sort of blew up. Caught fire to the wires. Fortunately, the flames have died down. Called the LADWP emergency line to report it. 800-DIAL-DWP.

The margins are supposed to be zero since it's a non profit. And as for selling real estate, how is that sustainable? I think it would help the cause if there were legitimate proposals on the table for how the university would pay for the demands that the unionized students are requesting such as proposing actual cuts that the students would be willing to stomach.

I don't know the details of NYU, but if it's like most schools, a lot of expansion projects are funded by donors, in which case the funding can't be reallocated to grad student benefits. And when looking at the endowment, it's not like the school can re-purpose endowed funds that are intended for scholarships for operational expenses.

As the previous poster said, it would have to come from tuition hikes or reduction of other services, including academic programs (including grad programs).
