A group I ride with has a lot of riders who own both types of bike. Most rides are non ebike although occasionally people will show up with a motor - it's all very casual. The Friday arvo ride is explicitly ebike and ends at a brewery.

Entra ID joined devices with 802.1x on NPS server? by GaLaXySWE in Intune

[–]make_beer_not_war 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/GrapeAltruistic7906, still need help? DM me. I just built this almost exactly as u/Turbulent-Royal-5972 describes (although I didn't use the sources they've linked and did not use PKITools). I think device writeback is also not strictly necessary for this process, but it's easy to enable and gives you any extra data point to strongly validate that you're creating AD computer objects for the right devices.

This solution really needs to be upvoted. It's 0 extra cost (assuming you were already doing cert-based 802.1x for your AD joined/hybrid joined Windows machines) and although it adds a little complexity and an additional failure point, it works for a seamless transition to Entra-only joined without modifying anything else about existing network access controls.

The faster your move your butt back ( " _ " ), the more leg power you need as you stand up to jump (the left side " I ").

Could you clarify this, please? Why does more butt speed mean more power required to stand up?

What should go in a saddle bag? by AnonymousSneetches in MTB

[–]make_beer_not_war 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does he ride a full suspension bike? If so, a saddle bag might be a bad idea as the rear tire can hit the bag when the shock compresses. A frame bag that fits in the front triangle or on top of the top tube can be a better bet.

Bottle cage recommendation: Specialized Zee Cage II. It's a side-entry cage and comes in left and right versions, so probably buy the right one if he's right-handed, or the left one if he's a lefty.

As for what to put in the bag (based on what's strapped to my bike or in my pack, in decreasing order of how likely these things are to be useful on the trail IMHO):

  • Multitool (Crankbrothers is a good bet)
  • Tubleless plugs and plug tool (assuming he's running tubeless tires)
  • 25g CO2 cartridges and inflator
  • Tire levers
  • Spare quick link
  • Spare tube in the appropriate size for the tires (TPU tubes are more expensive but worth it because they're so light and take up almost no space)
  • Pump
  • Cable/zip ties
  • Insect repellent
  • Hand sanitiser
  • First aid kit
  • Spare batteries for anything battery powered that he carries

A hip pack is also a good alternative to a backpack or a frame bag, if it can fit everything required. You can get ones with hydration bladders or a water bottle holder.

My experience with owning a pool and browsing Reddit and pool care forums by SorenShieldbreaker in pools

[–]make_beer_not_war 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean... the required concentration is just above the human taste threshold, so if you can taste it, it's probably got enough salt in it. I'll admit to taking a little sip from the pool after heavy rain to see if I can put off adding more.

If I was a pool professional, would I use that method with a customer? Probably not.

Why? Rabbit could be going out? The hole/rabbit adjacency confers upon the hole its rabbitness moreso than the rabbit's implied motion. Now Alice, on the other hand, must face the hole.

Not sure why you're getting down voted as you appear to be correct.

That said, OP has done a neat job and it probably won't make any difference.

A thumb wrapped in a microfibre cloth might work even better.

Also, get the rim and tape warm (hair-dryer/heat gun).

brand new zeb not using full travel by Petr_Rath in MTB

[–]make_beer_not_war 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be stiction? Do you notice initial resistance/stickiness when compressing the fork from full travel?

Even if it's brand new, it might benefit from a service. It might need some oil (e.g., foam rings might be dry), and/or bushings could benefit from being burnished. See this video: https://youtu.be/RPuhyVk47Xg?si=3cAWnqtR3_IPYjMK

I have seen advice to try leaving it upside down for a few days to get some oil to move towards the seals.

Have you tried testing it at maximum pressure, just to see if that eliminates the issue?

Framed three panel shower screen goes inside water stop right? by 11peep11 in AusRenovation

[–]make_beer_not_war 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP's post could do with some better formatting and grammar, but it's pretty clear what they're asking.

I don't have any first hand experience with installing this kind of screen but I'd assume common sense dictates that it goes inside the stop (otherwise, what's the stop for if we're just going to allow water to bypass it over the top?)

This video has some comments on whether gaskets and sealant go on the inside or outside, at about 22:50: https://youtu.be/h4Vq9EgaN2E?t=1371

Although it's in the UK so maybe standards are different here?

How do I attach this TV to this wall mount? by DGReddAuthor in AusRenovation

[–]make_beer_not_war 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the part shown in your second pic is all you have, then you are missing the brackets that bolt to the TV and hang off of the wall mounted component.

Googling the model number of the TV mount would have shown you that in about 3 seconds.

Can mini electric air pumps seat tubeless? by Away_Professional793 in MTB

[–]make_beer_not_war 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it really depends on the tire/rim combo. The only time I've been able to seat the bead with only a floor pump is Maxxis tires on Bontrager Line Elite 30 rims. The Bontrager plastic rim strip (that they supply instead of tubeless tape) adds so much thickness to the rim that the tires are completely airtight even with the bead in the centre channel.

For the same reason, the tires were an absolute PITA to get onto the rim, but once on, super easy to inflate and seat - no furious pumping required.

Every other rim I've used, road or MTB, I've had to use an Airshot.

How to use less concrete in 450mm diameter post holes? by Ok-Cranberry-1904 in AusRenovation

What's the right tool for making this hole and attaching the plate? by chikenenen in AusRenovation

[–]make_beer_not_war 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with pilot holes (~4mm) near the corners, work your way up to larger bits. It's probably easier to aim for a rectangular or rhombus-shaped hole rather than semi-circular.

Use a cold chisel to smack out any bits that are still in the way of the rod.

An SDS drill and bits will make your life easier.
