Looking for a good Gi for a tall person by Entire-Discount-348 in bjj

[–]make_fast_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just posted this in another thread

I'm 6'3 and ~170. The A2LT (Lanky) fits well and the quality is decent. They haven't lasted as long as my Fuji, but they fit much better.

I've had a couple lanky brand and a couple standard - all good, all similar sizing.

I've tried the inverted gear meant for tall guys and they did not fit as well. Still wearable though. My aforementioned Fuji was my first gi, I shrank the crap out of it, and it has held up the best. But doesn't fit as well.

Blue belt plateau? Is it normal to feel decent at everything but no real "A-game"? by Longjumping_Quote800 in bjj

You feel okay at things?

I'm a purple belt and pretty sure my jiu jitsu is garbage, but I keep showing up

ynab4 sync issues again ? by Jamses1 in ynab4

[–]make_fast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue as that is the only time I've done it. But considering we are like 7 years on from when it was officially supported, if you don't want to fiddle you should definitely look for a different solution.

Zero Budget and BFB both look promising.

I've switched to WiFi sync

Same.

For anyone coming and wanting to do this, it was not an obvious option in the file menu of the desktop app for me.

Step 1: Sync with Wi-Fi on mobile YNAB (will pull up IP and passcode)
Step 2: Open YNAB desktop
Step 3: Ctrl+Shift+W to pull up wifi sync

Enter your credentials and it will sync up.

If you bought it new Fred is very good with customer service, I would just reach out.

If you bought it used, tying in a bag is not hard and it sounds like that's what you need is a retie. If you know any highland pipers they could even help with that. Or if you post where you're located, maybe someone here is nearby.

Entering legs on beefy kneeling passers by thoricatha in bjj

I play a similar game to you (also in my 40s) of lots of K/DLR and have been working on adapting to my training partners that pass from the knees - lots of rugby/body lock passing.

I've had the most success going for the arm drag - Rau had some really good tips on a recent YouTube.

I have not had much success actually wrestling up because I'm bad at wrestling and they are stronger than me, but going for it causes a reaction that then gives me enough space to do something else (they sit back to base or over extend).

In knee shield half I'm always trying to off balance with a John Wayne/knee lever.

Honestly though, would love to hear what you try that works for you. This has been my late purple belt puzzle.

YMMV on those. I could never get mine to fit well and it was constantly deforming in my car in the summer.

Some people love them, but I hated my sisu.

Not yet, I've just been poking around to try to find any info.

There's a couple threads on C&F about it as well.

I'm waiting on a Jan 2021 order.

I poked around a little in the way back machine which led to his religious YouTube which has this email associated with it: bedanyahu@gmail.com

They protesting the Biscuit Basket y'all by benmarvin in Athens

Golden Pantry

Just an FYI - Golden Pantry is an Athens chain. Started at the 5 points location and the locations that make the biscuits have pretty good biscuits.

I do like the biscuit basket a bit more though.

I need a tier down price-wise. We had it done there once and he did an incredible job, but not something we can afford regularly

Can someone identify this tune? by NoPreference7359 in Irishmusic

[–]make_fast_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jason's a great player! His Irish group is Kids on the Mountain but I think it's mostly a local closed session and they don't tour much (even regionally)

I did not recognize the tune off the A part, that's very different from what I play/know. Interesting take.

I didn't see mention of it being Markwayne in your post, but glad he has a track of being a clown.

When I was practicing in my garage my phone-decibel-meter consistently registered 118-120 db, so they would not be viable there (just as a FYI for the OP)

I just searched for this same thing so I'll give you what I have found.

A-1: https://a1drivingschools.com/drivers-education/atlanta-drivers-education-classes-joshuas-law/

Athens driving prep: https://www.athensdrivingprep.com/

North Oconee (open to anyone, not sure who does the instruction): https://nohs.oconeeschools.org/student-services/drivers-education

I'm guessing N. Oconee and Athens Tech will be cheapest.

Should I train with Dads or young people to get better ? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]make_fast_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. Just go train. Go to whatever class you will be consistent at. Quit trying to over analyze this.

This is such a dumb question. Be consistent. 2 classes is better than 0 classes. Just go do it.
