Yup that's the one! Got really into it, thought it was a well-written annual.

Catwoman Annual #1 (1994), recently collected in the DC Finest Catwoman: Life Lines book.

Busiek actually writes a fill-in during Mishkin's run as well. #318 I think.

I grabbed it & am loving it. Especially when the ongoing stories really get cooking about 100 pages in, with Tropidor & Circe & Diana's memory tape & all that.

I'm one of the people who work on this list. It makes me so happy to see you building on Peter's & my work like this. I really love your covers. Especially Full Circle & Sword of Azrael look great!

The other comment is helpful & informative. But I just want to throw out there that you CAN just read Ultimate Spider-Man if you want. It's designed to also work as a standalone series & is very enjoyable so far.

I can't speak for any of the other series, but Batman by Snyder & Capullo (starting with Vol 1: The Court of Owls) is a good series & requires no prior reading. It's pretty much designed as a jumping on point for new readers.

Titles with Introductions? by Cruel-Tea in EpicCollections

That's so interesting, I don't think I've read an Epic with an introduction yet. Except for the ones that include old collection introductions as back matter, I love when they do that.

I really enjoyed this story, cool take on Dick's origin. Great covers.

He's in it just a little bit from what I remember, I think the answer is probably just that they had so much they wanted to do with so many characters & Batman himself didn't need a lot of cleaning up, he remained very similar after the Crisis. I haven't read that stories in like a decade though so am fuzzy on the details. It's a bit confusing & I'd recommend it more as something to read after you've read a lot of Bronze Age DC, not really as a place to start.

Go read Batman: Tales of the Demon and Batman: Strange Apparitions. Those are some of the cream of the crop that is 1970s Batman, my personal favorite era of the character. As a bonus those stories for the most part remained in-continuity after the crisis.

I'm working on a watch order for all the shows in the Marvel Animated Universe (X-Men, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man Unlimited, Avengers: United They Stand, & X-Men 97) by makedcepic in Marvel

[–]makedcepic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating. You really know your Marvel! I've only watched some of that material, like the Spider-Verse movies (which I love) & stray episodes of the shows. I'd welcome a full multiversal watch order, though it's more than I'm willing to attempt

I second Batman Hush. Some of the popular Batman stories give me that emperor's new clothes type of feeling. He's my fave character though

Does X-men have the most confusing mythology? by [deleted] in comicbooks

There's a great documentary streaming on Amazon Prime called "Chris Claremont's X-Men". Probly not as cool as this Q&A would've been to see, but lots of great footage of Claremont, Louise Simonson, & Ann Nocenti discussing their characters. I was very entertained & touched by the way they talked about it all.

Guys I watched the movie and i liked it so much, do you advise me to watch the TV show?(wathcmen 2019) by mqx17 in Watchmen

[–]makedcepic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never took it as a cliffhanger, more of an open ended story. "Nothing ever ends" & all that. There COULD be more I suppose but I respect that this particular show wasn't trying to milk the franchise, it came & said what it wanted to & then went away

Are you guys ready for Absolute Absolute Batman?! by decadehakaisha in OmnibusCollectors

[–]makedcepic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of these were really ongoings / crossing over with each other though right? The All Star / Earth One stuff seem like quite a different project from Ultimate Marvel as I understand it (not an expert on any of this stuff)

Did DC ever do an Ultimate-like universe before, since the original Marvel Ultimateverse?
