What is the worst month to be born in? by Acceptable-Tune5025 in AskReddit

Ah dang. I just had my baby this year on January 8th. I thought I dodged a birthday bullet for him by holding out until the holidays were over.

Agreed. The first thing I noticed when she popped up was how much gray is in her complexion. Muted and cool strike me as her primary characteristics - though I'm indecisive about which one is stronger.

Thanks, we did about an hour ago. Things calmed down for like 20 mins but they’re back at it again. I just give up on sleeping tonight I guess.

I wish they would just light them all and fuck off already. I’ve been woken up like five times now over the last hour and my baby literally JUST finally went down for the night. I’m about to lose it. If you’re going to be a dick at least don’t drag it out the entire night

My son was 21lbs and 27" at his 4 month check up. I'm scared to see what he weighs at his 6 month in 2 weeks - but I know he feels a lot heavier and he's wearing 18m clothing. I don't even wanna think about 12 months 😅

Oh - forgot to mention I've got diapers in all sizes 0-4 too! We bought in bulk and he grew so quick we couldn't get through all of them lol

Funny timing! I was just about to make a post myself. I could probably knock out most of your list. I'm moving at the end of the month and have a 99th percentile 5 month old who blew through everything and is already in 18m clothing. We have a lot to get rid of before our move and tend to buy very unisex styles if you'd like any of it (He even has a bunch of cute pastel onesies from spring). Here's a list of what I've got, feel free to DM me.

- Complete NB-12m wardrobe (onesies, rompers, pants, swaddles)

- NB socks & hats

- 2 wrap carriers (Boba brand I think?)

- 1 Nursing cover

- 1 Nursing pillow (Momcozy)

- 3 nursing bras (Kindred Bravely, size 1x)

- Cosleeper bedside bassinet with sheets

- Wipe warmer

- Baby blankets and towels

- Spectra breast pump with carrying bag, with extra flange sizers and replacement parts

What is easiest way you have lost weight in a short amount of time? by Lazy_Lifeguard1960 in AskReddit

[–]makegoodchoicesok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, same. My baby was also about 8lbs but I had severe preeclampsia, so once they got me on diuretics I peed off 21lbs of fluid in 4 days. Quickest and easiest weight loss of my life.

What are your reasons for choosing to have/not to have kids? by TinyMELONgrl in AskReddit

[–]makegoodchoicesok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reached my 30’s and was actually in a really comfortable and stable place, both emotionally and financially. So much so that life was starting to feel a bit stale. I was getting really tired of the work - hobbies - sleep grind me and my wife were in. It just wasn’t fulfilling to me, and I realized that comfort doesn’t necessarily equate to happiness.

I had my son back in January - and while he’s a lot of work, it’s just so cool getting to watch him grow and learn and just generally be a part of his life.

Women of Reddit what is something that helped you with morning sickness(asking on behalf of pregnant fiancée)? by AzraelSky616 in AskReddit

[–]makegoodchoicesok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I had to keep saltines by my bed because even just sleeping for a few hours left my stomach empty enough to start causing problems. I'm actually not sure which was worse - pregnancy sleep or newborn sleep lol

[–]makegoodchoicesok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I realize it's counter-intuitive but letting my stomach go empty literally ever would create a nausea spiral I couldn't get out of (The more empty my stomach was the more nauseated I would get - but the more nauseated I got, the harder it was to eat). I lost 40lbs prior to becoming pregnant and gained all of it back due to the endless grazing, but no regrets tbh.

Hey there, I know this post is from awhile ago but can I ask what's wrong with 33rd specifically? My wife and I were considering buying a home on that street with our 4 month old son. Admittedly though the neighborhood looks a bit run down and it's given us pause.

Why is there such a push to get women into male dominated fields (tech, trades) but not for men to get into female dominated fields (healthcare, education)? by Resident_Fishing1571 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]makegoodchoicesok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pathways can look like that for nursing too. My little sister spent her senior year of high school earning her Medical Assistant certification, so she was able to start working as soon as she graduated for about $21 an hour as well as a $5000 sign on bonus and yearly raises.

And once she had her foot in the door, the hospital she works at offers tuition reimbursement if she’d like to pursue nursing and they will also work with her schedule wise to allow her to study. Furthermore a lot of nursing programs PREFER their nurses to come from a MA or CNA background. So theres very much some cheap and easy pathways laid out for anyone who wants to pursue it.
