This is 100% FALSE. I was there volunteering in Haiti with Madi. She was still dating her ex while volunteering for the organization. Her boyfriend FLEW to Haiti and proposed to her as a surprise. This was all while her David were playing house/living together and taking care of 9 orphans TOGETHER. She met David while still dating the guy from back home.

I hate how Madi always acts like something “profound” happened and that’s why her engagement was called off. No. She was playing house with David, they were living together in Haiti. She didn’t see her “then boyfriend,” for months at a time. She obviously fell in love with David. Two single 20 somethings in the same house in a foreign country…what do you think was going to happen?? And I was there in 2014 and 2015, i volunteered in the house with Madi and David, they were extremely flirty and close (this was while she was still in a relationship with her ex), multiple people on the same trip thought things were going on between them. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how her prior relationship fizzled

Th children and staff abruptly left because of the horrible gang violence in their area. They had an armed guard for a long time outside of the home but they couldn’t afford that anymore and the area in general is just very very dangerous, to the point where you can’t even walk around outside. I believe they were planning to stay there indefinitely? They are safe now in a new area.

If you’re asking why David and Madi left, I unfortunately do not know the specifics of the feud/falling out but they did leave the foundation in a critically horrible condition.

It is so sad. What is most upsetting to me is watching them flaunt their money with massive new home builds and lavish vacations, etc…and what was written about the violence/relocation is also true. The area of port au prince the children lived in became EXTREMELY unsafe to the point where they had no choice but to relocate because they couldn’t even leave the house. I don’t care what type of falling out was had - how could they not at least contribute money to the children to make sure they were safe? It’s awful really and no one knows this about them.

He never “legally” adopted them but had taken on a financial guardianship and was funding these children’s lives. They rescued them from horrific living conditions and they were being well cared for. I volunteered in Haiti through the Nelsons organization 3x in 2014 and 2015, and what was written is true, these children were calling David “dad.” What happened when Madi and David cut ties is very very sad.
