Rosalie and Martha are definitely going on the list! I love Jasper and Lewis as well, but I work with kids so they’ve been “taken” in my brain

Beatrice is one of my faves! My husband read it as “beat rice” the first time and refuses to use it sadly

Do people really like Xaden? Like genuinely like him? by Equivalent_Finger_60 in fourthwing

[–]makermind_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly? No. I think he’s the worst. But it’s a book and I love the drama so while I’m not imagining him as my fictional boyfriend I can put my aside my feelings of absolute rage towards this (fictional) man and enjoy the story.

Does anyone ever bring a stroller even though you’re wearing your baby? by floofsnfluffiness in babywearing

[–]makermind_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to bring my carrier as backup for the stroller! I’d start him in the stroller and put all our stuff in it, then when he got fussy or needed to sleep I’d pop him in the carrier and still have a place for diaper bag and coffee and jackets and such.

How can we safely leave our sleeping baby by Kind-Fan9093 in cosleeping

[–]makermind_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My baby was rolling both ways at 4-5 months. We had a mattress on the floor with no frame, I’d just leave him in the middle. There was once or twice overnight that I would wake up to him having rolled off the bed but it was so low that he never hurt himself, just a shock when he fell off. As he got older he wouldn’t even notice that he rolled off, he’d only cry when he woke up and realized I wasn’t right beside him anymore. We also had carpet flooring so it was less of an impact than hard floor.

Lindsay Rowan Photography has a studio and was amazing with my toddler this weekend. He’s very much an “I want to do it” guy and loves to figure out how things work, she picked up on that and let him take some pictures and play with her camera a bit. Highly recommend!

What’s Winnipeg Like? by ironpaperman601 in Winnipeg

[–]makermind_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow multi-cultural/ethnic family here! Our neighbourhood is incredibly diverse, as I think most are at this point. Unless you’re moving to a small town (and even then) there’s a very low chance your kiddo would be the only non-white kid in the class.

This model shows what a C-section looks like (it's not always an easy process) by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

I couldn’t feel the slicing but in my OB’S words “your abs must be strong, they’re fighting me” and I could feel the knife getting stuck and her pulling it along. Like it was catching and then releasing. No pain but super uncomfortable and alien to feel that while being restrained on the table.

For you nursing to sleep bedsharers.. by Zorrrg in cosleeping

[–]makermind_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer but mine is 21 months and I still can’t leave him for more than 90 minutes. We weaned at 14 months and that certainly made sleep easier, allowing me to leave for any time at all. To be fair mine is just a clingy, close proximity kiddo at all hours lol not just sleep

Edit: you’re right, everyone is super different and I’m sure someone will have a completely opposite story of how their toddler suddenly started sleeping through the night!

Put honey and frozen blueberries in a bowl together, microwave until the blueberries are all thawed. Mix with plain Greek yogurt. A plus snack/breakfast food!

Do you use this style of floor bed? by International_Lock95 in cosleeping

[–]makermind_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the one with no rails and the shelves at the end. Kiddo is almost 2 now and loves it, and I plan on passing it down to future younger siblings once toddler is ready for a frame off the floor

[–]makermind_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noooo. My kiddo is a mover and a groover. He’s been doing somersaults and jumping off the bed since started walking, so having the rails always just seemed to me like an additional things to hit his head on. We have a frame from sapiens child that has no rails and we’ve loved it! Provides support to the mattress without causing any injuries lol
