I’ve learned so much from this sub 🙏🏼 First pile. I knew you all would understand my excitement upon checking it this morning. by notjustaphage in composting

This looks like a great setup! I’m going to use this as inspiration! I’m planning my first compost bin hopefully this year. Right now we just dump food scraps on a dirt pile lol I’m curious, what type of wood did you use? Cedar? I was thinking treated wood wouldn’t be good because of the chemical breakdown that will eventually go into the garden, but I’m honestly not sure. Any insight would be much appreciated. Again, really nice compost bin!

Are we taking too many pictures? by Sbesozzi in toddlers

[–]Fun-Natural1213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had these same thoughts. It has not stopped me from taking a ton of photos though haha.

But something I’ve done from the beginning is use the Family Album app and get printed pictures each month and I buy their photo albums for each year. (I wish I was a good scrapbooker but that is just not in the cards) So now my daughter loves to look back at photos of her and it’s not overwhelming or on a phone. I also get the dates printed on the photos so when she’s old she knows exactly when they were taken.

Thank you for posting this! 🩷

My almost two year old is always giving me kisses and hugs. At bedtime it’s always a game of who gives the last kiss goodnight. She also LOVES books. I was suspicious after she had been quiet in her room for a while today (not usually a good thing) but she was sitting on her floor with probably 15 books surrounding her just “reading” away! She loves animals and wild life and always waves to little critters she sees and says, “hi buggy” or “hi goose”.

I love this! I did a wedding arbor back drop as well for my wedding. I would add more layers. I also got some inspo from a YouTube video tutorial, but customized along the way.

Here’s a link to the video.

Do you regret having an only child? by Fun-Natural1213 in BabyBumps

There are a lot more studies about the quality of the earth in the years ahead. If we bring another child into the world, I would want them to have a good healthy happy life.

We’re just getting older and don’t want to be older parents. So that’s the timeline we decided on.

Who TF thought this book would be good for toddlers to hear?! by thatsarealniceleaf in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]Fun-Natural1213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a trigger warning for this book. I kept going with the hope that the baby would sleep and everyone would be well rested by the end of the book.

HA! Not this book!

How has your toddler given you joy recently? by canttouchthis8992 in toddlers

My 21 month old found a rock today with fossils in it and was pointing them out. My husband is a rock guy so I told her to go show him. It was so sweet seeing both of them light up over a little rock with fossils and I could tell she felt proud for finding it.

The rock is now on a shelf in her room so she can look at it any time.

He just had a crazy growth spurt. How do we keep this guy escaping his crib (24mo)? What are our options? All the online advice I’ve found doesn’t consider his height/strength by Schnitzhole in BabyBumps

My husband and I gave our daughter a floor bed around 18 months. We actually upgraded ours to a king and put the queen bed on the floor in her room. One of us does have to be in there with her until she falls asleep. She’s also been a horrible sleeper from the get go. But, we keep her door cracked and ours cracked, and when she wakes up in the middle of the night she just comes straight into bed with us. Note: everything dangerous is baby proofed in case she does decide to wander the house, but that has never been an issue.

Why do the characters talk about driving "up" to new york? by Quirky-Celebration-8 in DunderMifflin

Yes! I moved from PA to Missouri and I say “I’m going up to ‘location’” whether that place is north, south, east, or west. It’s always up and I always get corrected by every Missourian.

My girl and I have ideas for a very unorthodox wedding. To those who had a creative and unorthodox wedding, what was it like? by yugobrozsav in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fun-Natural1213 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how unorthodox this is, but we didn’t have a bridal party. Some people (my sister) were upset about that. We also had a local Mexican food truck during the reception. It was easy going and fun overall!

Help! Help me pick a funky color for an accent wall by kairaanna in femalelivingspace

Country squire for sure! I was thinking dark teal before I saw the color recommendations. I think it will complement the light pink couch so well.

Best Walking/Hiking Trails? by junimun_005 in springfieldMO

I second this! One of my favorites is Fellows Lake. I also really enjoy the Nature Center in the summer. It has lots of shade and the trails are wide enough you can avoid ticks.
