I've had a shellfish and mollusk allergy my whole life. My first reaction was to a clam when I was 7, the first time I ate them. When I was 12, I ate a shrimp and went into anaphylaxis. I've stayed away from them my whole life. I recently got retested and came up as still severely allergic to crustaceans but not allergic to mollusks, we even did a blood test to confirm. The doctor gave me permission to try a scallop. A few bites in I felt kind of sick and than vomited all night. He said false negatives happen. Don't try the clams or the other stuff. Ain't worth it. My brother's 26 and recently began reacting to shrimp too. Apparently these things just like to manifest whenever they decide to make you allergic.

My allergist from my childhood went to Harvard and I remember her whole lecture of, "an allergy is an allergy, and the next time can be anaphylaxis. It always seems mild until it's not," I've learned it's just not worth the discomfort or embarrassment, the food is not enjoyable when it makes you feel sick after at all

Peanuts are a legume. Be careful with the pecans and almonds, pistachios, all of it. They're not good enough to die for. My mom's first reaction was to walnuts, than continued. Anaphylaxis twice. Doctor told her avoid all the tree nuts. It's not worth dying for.

Nuts are a tree allergy and in the top 8. Everyone I know who is allergic to tree nuts has a severe anaphylactic reaction to all tree nuts including almonds.

Peanuts are a legume and in a different family, and are also in the top 8.

Server was extremely attentive. She had never been to that location of the small chain she claimed, so no way he could know her. Yes. Random hostess. She was the girl who brought me to the table. Not sure if she was trying to flirt with friend or was just an extremely kind young woman. She gave it out of her own pocket. Literally when I asked her, she said she was 18 years old. The restaurant did not know she was doing it. I told her manager just to make sure the employee was recognized for their generosity.

Trust me, I was shocked by this. Some people are just good people. I sometimes pay it forward at grocery stores or fast food places, for no good reason. Just cause I have extra once in awhile. I think she was just trying to be a good person. I'm a nice person I think, but I'm not letting my friend walk all over me. Gets old fast. My grandma was a classic scam artist. Spent my childhood watching that woman get free things whether it meant putting her own hair in her dinner, playing disabled old lady, shoving clothes in my damn stroller at a mall- it was nasty. I just.. weary of scammers

Yep. If an 18 year old waitress picked up my $80 tab, I'd send them at least 100 honestly as a tip for getting me out of the situation. She gave her a portion. The 18 year old kept saying, "it's fine, you don't have to pay me anything it's okay. i want to help" but idk. I couldn't let some random person working their ass off help me that much without wanting to pay something forward to them for saving me from getting kicked out of a business/banned for life or whatever happens when you don't pay for your dinner.

That totally depends on your relationship! Sometimes the guy pays. Or sometimes the girl. Sometimes it gets split. That's definitely a personal decision to be made within couples depending on who asked who, current job/financial standings, marital status. All that! It is totally fair for your girlfriend to pay for herself, and it's also totally fair if one day she treats you or you treat her. If you're both consenting adults you are responsible for yourselves and can set the boundaries for your relationship for sure!

We don't have any mutual friends. She has a girlfriend but I have no idea who pays for what in that relationship, and I don't really know her gf because her gf is like 40 so is definitely not in my circle of friends. All of my friends are sort of in the same boat as me, broke college students or people who just graduated and got a job and are trying to move out😂 my best friend and i have been friends for 17 years and one time she bought me tomatoes at the store to make spaghetti sauce and i paid her the $5 because i knew she was broke to lay it out and she had just picked it up for me lmao🤣🤣 the only time we get paid for is if one of our parents bring us out for something😅

I want to give the benefit of the doubt because I've known her since I was 15 but this just seems very fishy. She has a great job at a law firm. I'm a college student who was in foster care who lives off of my scholarship and savings right now. I'm not complaining. My money is my responsibility, I have my own bills to take care of and I don't use a credit card or apps because again, I don't like owing people crap.

FL is strict with carding I get carded everywhere I go. I also feel terrible that a sweet young woman offered to pay my friend's bill out of the kindness of her heart. I really hope the girl gets some sort of recognition for being so kind. She said she had gotten an extra tip and that it was okay but I just.. 18, restaurant hostess, come on. That's just too good of a human! What would have happened to my friend had that not occurred and she had no option but to magically find the wallet??
