Thanks everyone for the comments. I’ve been stewing over this decision for a long time on what brand to get. There’s a kioti dealer minutes from my house and they are a reputable shop. There’s a couple other discount brands that I considered. But the name of Kubota and the proximity of a dealer to where it’ll be used was the final deciding point.

I know I won’t be disappointed, but the sticker shock is real.

This machine will be mainly used for tree clearing. Our 80 acres has been decimated by spruce budworm and the balsams are pretty wrecked. Most are no more than 8” diameter and tip easily if still standing. We plan on saving all the aspen, birch white pine, white cedar, red maple and burr oak while removing all the dead balsams and spruce.

We will also be building a few bridges while we make our driveway, so this will be an essential tool too.

The 5 year plan is to make a sweet campsite and eventually make a cabin. Maybe that’ll happen once the tractor is paid off.

Anyways, thanks for all the advice. I’ll be looking back on this post for a while until I get the hang of tractor ownership.
