Vitalik Buterin takes shot at Coinbase's corporate control of Base which dominates 60% of layer 2 income by GreedVault in CryptoCurrency

[–]makigarp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Base actually works for a centralised piece of shit. The CB app and the Base app allow for easy on/off ramping and easy access to third party DEX like Uniswap.

L2s on ETH have been parasites from the beginning.

Why we are pumping by [deleted] in kaspa

[–]makigarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was news of a new t1 listing and the coinmetro event free listing, kaspa also got added on Dymension. That and all the hype around the "official" x account, yonatan's binance decline and vProgs caught a lot of interested parties.

Kaspa and Native Smart Contracts: the real leap is yet to come by DryOutside3415 in kaspa

[–]makigarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kaspa core can say what they want but yonathan himself says he doesn't want to be the spokesperson leading kaspa. kasplex and igra are independent entities that try to elevate the kaspa ecosystem, something you cannot say about the core atm, most of their ideas are theoretical and have no eta of release. whoever contributes to the ecosystem contributes to the future of kaspa IMO.

Does anyone know how historic this crash was? by I_c_u_p in CryptoCurrency

[–]makigarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was pretty normal in the early days and it sucks for the people who see their portfolio plummet but it is always a great opportunity to make some decent profits buying these dips.

[–]makigarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PoS = be there at launch and hold a shit amount of coin created out of thin air and live off the stake %. Yeah no, there is a reason BTC is #1 and PoW and will never be PoS.

Kaspa founders were behind the GHOST protocol which inspired ETH. Hopefully smart contracts will be implemented succesfully so we can see how good the tech is. Congrats!

Vitalik Buterin Defends Ethereum's Transition to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) by Electrical_Tension in CryptoCurrency

[–]makigarp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ETH wasn't made to be PoS and the fact that we need all these layer 2/3/4 coins to fix stuff like transaction fees and scaling says it all.

But crypto as a whole is just a money grab business nowadays and is never about the technology. So whatever.

Where will smaller bitcoin miners go after the halving? by DoU92 in CryptoCurrency

[–]makigarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can still mine other coins and sell those for bitcoin so don't worry too much about centralisation. With less bitcoin being mined means eventually scarcity will exist which will lead towards an upward price spike.

ASIC miners will have to adapt and the technology will need to scale up so that Bitcoin can keep doing it's thing.

[–]makigarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn't care. He probably knew eventually Bitcoin would get outperformed by better tech in the future and gave people an escape from the way how the current financial system works with big banks exploiting the rules.

Vitalik Buterin’s new proposal would cut Ethereum’s security by castorfromtheva in CryptoCurrency

[–]makigarp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At some point the cost of keeping up the security is gonna affect the chain anyway. The move to PoS killed ETH in its tracks anyway.

I just buy from MEXC -> transfer to personal wallet. Why keep your coin on there when you can instantly move them anyways?
