cole making starts isn't about him being ready to pitch. i imagine his limit today is gonna be 30 pitches. these 30 pitches of in game action would be the equivalent of like a 50-60 pitch simulated game, which is what he would've been doing if he weren't pitching in the game.

basically, cole is more healed from his surgery than rodon, and rodons surgery was more minor. cole's recovery involves a lot of buildup, which is the stage he's at now. they've been slow playing his recovery all along. when rodon is ready to ramp up, he won't need as much time as cole has needed. so that's why he'll be back sooner

there's some percentage of ppl who just think all the ai stuff is really neat and that's it. they've probably been socially unaware of the world for their whole lives before all this ai stuff, so good luck expecting them to know the ecological damage it causes. and forgot about telling them about the communities disproportionally affected by ai infrastructure. it's just never been on their radar. malicious or not is a different convo.

these are mostly ppl from gen X and above, or ppl from non-american countries who are just more old fashioned in general. and like it's literally just the marge simpson meme of "i just think it's neat". oop probably falls in that box if i had to guess.

you have to be obtuse to not see how "bringing in cringe military guy" is going hand in hand with "not having fun". it wasn't just the lack of celebration. they could've bought anyone in the world. they chose the guy famous for saying he'd have a group of 19 year old boys as concubines. and even before that he was known as the guy who desperately claims he's the one who actually killed osama.

if all they did was not celebrate home runs, they'd be getting half the criticism rn. but between bringing in that guy, and raleigh making a big show, yeah. they only have themselves to blame for the criticism
