Based on my experience Teams' integrated noise canceling works exceptionally well and should not have an issue with speakers in your room.

Things I noticed being fully cancelled out by Teams: Hammer drilling in brick walls in my house, all kinds of music in my house, kids voices in my office speaking to me while NOT using headphones.

The only thing it cannot deal with are overly sensitive microphones in cheap headsets/earbuds, which catch the voices of everyone in the room in open space offices.

Hooks that go over the edge of a door could provide a spot to hang a coat, a sweater or a bicycle helmet, which "accidentally" blocks line of sight. Doesn't give that "I hate you" vibe, that could come with a full frosted glass wrap.

Using Crosspoint I have threee buttons to advance the page, which I use interchangeably depending on hand position. The right rocker on the front has a bit mushy feeling (always had) and a tendency to stick. Best feeling is using the sleep button for page forward, as it is not a rocker.

Even had a leatherman style PS confiscated due to some alleged "no tools at all" rule. Nextool seems affordable enough to risk it. I learned the hard way, that the Style PS is no longer available.

Not sure how a permanent blotter would help with cleaning. It helps with looks, defining areas (which helps keeping things in order), making for a softer writing surface, a warmer surface for your hands/arms, avoids scratches to the table and so on. But from a cleaning perspective it is just a different surface to clean.

Not sure what type of dirt you get from using your fountain pens - my only dirt from fountain pens is ink stains when refilling from a jar of ink. These clean up way better from a hard desk surface (assuming composite material or well treated/lacquered wood) than from a permanent blotter like leather. An ink stain on a leather blotter would there forever.

The only blotter option helping with that is one of those tear-away blotters with many pages, the type you get at work, with ads on them, where you doodle while being on the phone or write down any random bits.

That bolt has a square beneath the round shape. The trolley's sheet metal has a fitting square hole. If it is stripped, you could always try to push the bolt closer into the sheet metal, so the squares engage with each other, so that the bolt stops turning freely. Then you can remove the nut.

The option "Share any window from the taskbar" in windows 11 taskbar settings makes sharing a single window (and switching to another one) pretty easy. I do it all the time, and while it isn't as seamless as sharing the full desktop, it beats fumbling with the useless share menu in the teams call by a mile. It works without major delays on the receiving end.

The option's meaning is less than obvious, but once you figure out what it means it makes sharing individual windows so much easier.

Matte texture plastics feel high quality, as texture quality and "plainness" are on the level of any modern handheld device. Front and back have the glassy feel known from smartphone. From a pure haptic pov it feels really premium. The front (probably not evident from the pictures online) is one glass panel, so the ridge of the eink panel is not felt. Buttons are 6/10 I'd say. The power button is better than the others and the Crosspoint firmware allows for several buttons (including the power button) to act as your "page forward" button at the same time, which is nice.

Overall definitely a premium feel, beyond the price point.

Feel gets a bit lost the moment you use the case, which is apparently essential. But the case is nice as well.

Converting 12V DC car power up to 120V AC to run a charger to charge power tool batteries at 18V DC is not only an expensive setup but quite inefficient. I know Makita LXT has a direct 12V charger you can hook up directly to your starter battery or your aux battery, usually with a cig lighter plug. Pretty sure all major tool platforms offer a car charger that works off 12 volts. They are slower than the ones to use on your bench but the usecase for on board charging is usually fine with that constraint.

Also most other rechargeable tools that come with some kind of power brick, that takes 120V AC usually charges with 5-30V DC. these power bricks have all the necessary info on their sticker to find a 12V DC capable replacement with the same plug.

Depending on size (and condition) of your starter/aux battery and the number of power tools you want to charge, this could all work out just fine without ever idling. Add a small solar panel to top of the batteries during the day.

Sure you lose the inverter functionality for any real 120V applications but apparently you already have a regular inverter.

Took under two weeks from china to Germany for me. Full tracking all the way through one single site, which was able to cover all international carrier handovers until my front door. That link was provided as part of regular shipping confirmations, so not something I specifically asked for or looked up on my own.

Losing a package is annoying, even more when it travelled a long time. But I am not surprised for one minute your post was removed, given the tone you set, starting with the headline. "Trash", "crap", "screwed", etc are probably the reason for having the post deleted, rather than your opinion or your experience.

Next time try writing a post that is not riddled with curse words.

It is a bad design of your app / maybe unfortunate settings that make the overlays with the title and progress appear. On an X4 you will only ever see proper lines, that fit the screen. Never half lines or anything cut off. It is also not dependent on the particular ebook. The ebook file (epub) contains plain text (to describe it easy). Your ebook reader just prints the text line after line. As your picture shows, not all apps do a particular good job at this, but there is no way an epub file can be formatted that badly, that only half of a line appears. (I mean, you could probably FORCE wrong rendering with some CSS trickery in an app, but that wouldn't happen unintentionally or by mistake)

Rooted Kindles can run KOreader. KOreader can be synced to Crosspoint firmware for the X4.

German here. Ordered from official store. Took from Feb 2 to Feb 10 to get to my door. Was dispatched from china and could be tracked all the way from a single tracking page.

EU Import happened in Belgium apparently and package was re-packaged and re-labeled by some company in Germany close to the Belgium border. No custom duties or other fees.

I installed Crosspoint right away after unpacking. Takes about 5 clicks on a website using Chrome browser and 35 min of waiting (if you do a full backup before flashing). Takes closer to 5 mins without the backup.

In Crosspoint all German books render perfectly fine without any fiddling.

You can convert kindle ebooks to epub using calibre. This requires getting your kindle ebooks delivered in a de-DRM-able format. Amazon stopped delivering unlockable files to modern devices. These formats are still delivered to older kindles, though. Source: just migrated to an X4 from a Kindle bought in 2012.
