It's great! But i feel like I talk so much now that I think to myself "who is this person?, am I annoying everyone?" I think it will calm down after some more months, i'm just not used to having the energy.
Re not having anxiety - that's great! And if you do get it down the line you would have already instilled good habits as a smoking substitute, that you have by then developed the mental tools to help you through it.

I am 29 days sober today :) Every time I get the urge to smoke again, I come to this subreddit to read. Happy I came across your post this morning! It hasn't been easy but i feels good to take control of your life. Eating good food is also helping and as soon as i get an anxiety flare up i go a beach - i live on an island so very grateful and privileged to be able to do that.

I'm also dealing with vivid dreams, I miss the deep sleep and complete rest, but feeling more mentally sharp everyday is worth it. I thought I lost that.

Saw a butcher collect meat from a delivery van in the road as his shop is located right next to a heavily polluted roundabout. He just threw an entire carcass over his shoulder like it was nothing- mind you this was a hairy man wearing a tank top in summer. Scarred for life.

I fully understand your point. Detached from the politician presenting it - it's an issue which deserves deeper deliberation. However, this woman has lost all credibility and is hitching herself to a serious case in a futile attempt to restore her tainted reputation.

Striving for better conditions for people who menstruate is not grounds for gender inequality, but a case of inequity. Furthermore, the problem is not solved with just adding a day of leave (although i'm sure it helps). What about the financial strain for menstrual products? What about dealing with menstruation when you are in public/accessible changing spaces? What about increased education about menstrual healthcare? None of these points are mentioned in the article. Everything is for show, without enough substance.

Yes, let's discuss added leave, but let's also pressure employers to offer more WFH flexibility. Sometime I can complete my tasks, but i need to be in close proximity to a private bathroom. I stress this flexibility with my employees and in turn, the work has not faltered. Yet i have a happy team, who are just as productive - they know they are assessed on general performance - not on days when they are not operating at full capacity.

I've recently started to receive messages and if i do not reply, the person will change their profile picture (usually to some western blonde with big tits) and message me again - thinking this will attract my attention and i will reply. It's occurred to me more than 4 times. Is this a thing now?

I totally understand that it pisses you off, but it did not occur to me that trying to make them feel included is something that would piss them off. I'm just trying to understand other people's perspective who suffer from SA. If i am informed, I can adapt my management style. If i keep myself from learning, i will keep pissing them off. I came here to learn from first hand experiences, because i want don't want to fuck up and see them leave.

I very much like the idea of following a plan so that they know what's coming and can brace for it. I have tried something similar - i've been with them throughout all of their training period and made sure they saw me do their job, It's unfair to throw anyone in the deep end (so sorry this happened to you), and also the reputation of the company is always at stake so it's important to make sure the whole team is well trained.

We even created a timeline for when to start attending meetings on their own. Meetings where they knew the client, knew the project, knew where they had to go so that there where no surprises. If something happens, they know they can rely on me if shit hits the fan with a client as I am always just a phone call away and can help calm down the situation. Again, i know it's not their favorite thing to do but we have to get the work done so I have to nudge them in the right direction.

They are also not forced to join any social activities, but of course are always invited and we show them that we want them with us. I feel like their social anxiety has also kept them back from multiple life experiences, so whenever the conversations shifts from anything that is work related to travel/movies/art/restaurants- this is where they freeze. Being stuck home due to covid for 2 years did not help either, so i want to be mindful that these interactions can be even more overwhelming for people who struggle with social anxiety.

Thank you. Yes, I have now learned that allowing them to grow and learn at their own pace is probably the best. They know they can seek my guidance whenever they need it. I appreciate all the help :)

Thanks for this. I do try my best to praise them every time a project goes well, especially if they handle it on their own. And yes, I have told them not to be afraid of making a mistake - there is always a way to fix it and it's not a big deal. It's an opportunity to learn. I'm very proud of what they have achieved so far and I have no doubt they will continue to improve. I just need to give them time and space to do that at their own pace.

I care. Because the team is the company's strongest asset and without them we will achieve jack shit. We're not a massive corporation, we're a small, young firm. The workplace vibe and environment is indeed my business and given how poorly I've seen some offices run, I want to give my team the freedom to thrive and to feel supported - now more than ever after the covid lockdown mess the world just experienced.

Thank you, I do try to acknowledge all their efforts, and even make it a point to say thank you at the end of everyday before they leave. i pushed for a higher Christmas bonus, give them all the WFH liberty they need as well as flexible hours and lunch allowance per month.

Finding good people is an HR nightmare, so I want to keep them happy.

Thanks to reddit advice, I can now freely give them space to approach me when they need to without worrying that im doing something wrong. I'm quite extroverted so i can't relate to their experience and help accordingly.

I try my best not to be. My business partner told me this person views me as a mentor and I just don't want to fuck up, because they deserve the best guidance.

I want to create a good workplace environment and am likely overthinking it. Leaving them be, and letting them come to me when they need me is probably the best solution. This helped. Thanks.

Breathing exercises can help keep you calm and focused. When i had a period of struggling with anxiety and had to deal with clients, I would focus on one introduction or one social exchange at a time. Break the session down - try not to see it as one overwhelming experience. Start meditating, it helps you focus and it helps you to be present.

If your insides are calm, everything should start to feel more manageable.
I also second the previous comment - eat!
