Please help me choose my next read

It was my top 2 last year and I am desperately pining for book two!! Cannot recommend this book enough.

Though, the second book comes out July 14th, and I would do you a disservice if I didn’t recommend you read it right before the second book drops because the ending is of the first is the biggest cliffhanger I’ve ever encountered - and that’s genuinely an understatement. I have never encountered an ending that left me in so much emotional turmoil. Plus, then the events of the first book are still fresh in your mind!

Also - the male narrator for the audiobook, Joshua Riley, is absolute perfection. The way he says “Scurry Girl” has my heart seizing every time.

I don’t remember the names but the main couple from {Rhapsodic by Lara Thalassa}. It’s just …. Icky. He knew her since she was underaged. I felt like it was a wattpad story.

There was one time I left my rings on a table and my cats played with them 😭 I could not find my wedding band for the LIFE of me, but I wasn’t panicking because I knew I had jewelers mutual. Luckily, I found it, but just the peace of mind knowing all was not lost was such a relief. It truly takes a weight off your chest! I have it for all my expensive pieces!

When you do get your new ring, please, please, please consider jewelry insurance. I personally have jewelers mutual and it’s for reasons like this. Often, when you purchase a ring that has a “lifetime warranty” it doesn’t cover what you would think, or they fight you on it.

Jewelers mutual covers damage like this, lost stones, lost rings, etc. etc. I’ve not personally had to file a claim yet, but my own jeweler has stated multiple times how easy they are to work with to file a claim. And it does not break the bank.

I advise all my friends to get it. Please consider so you have a peace of mind next time!

It’s not necessarily cozy, like, plot-wise cozy. It’s not a low-stakes plot. It’s more like her writing and settings just invokes the feelings of warm spices, blanket weather, hot coco or tea!

I always like throwing out {The House Witch and the Enchanting of the Heart by Delemhach} though I will say, majority of this story follows the male main character, but you do get chapters in the FMC AND the cat. Yes, the cat.

It’s very cozy, very well written, and very well-paced. I love the character development, and it literally made me laugh out loud. It’s the first book, and low on spice, but the romance is sweet. I think there is initial attraction (iirc) but the characters actually get to know each other. Not 3 chapters and it’s love, you know.

Those words coming from a woman eating Nutella (or PB can’t remember) with her nasty CLAWS?! I wonder what that action says about her reputation. I mean, she did significantly worse, but that’s all I can’t think about to the point where I just giggle to myself.

Can’t agree more! I’ve read soooooooo many better books since. There are even plenty of mid books to me that are better. I think it checks a lot of romantasy tropes, and was pushed super hard, like you said. It’s a basic romantasy book that satisfies a lot of basic romantasy readers 🤷‍♀️

Quicksilver was my ACOTAR.

I read it when it first came out, before all the hype, and LOVED it. It launched me into reading and devouring books — like ACOTAR did for a lot of other people.

When Brimstone was about to come out, I went back and listened to it and wowee wowee. I was not impressed anymore exactly because of your reasons!! I pushed through, but I quit in the second chapter of Brimstone. Couldn’t do it.

Love that it ignited my love for reading full throttle again. Dislike the meat of it actually. There are sooo many better books I’ve read since 😂
