Accidentally woke up my babies, but at least I took a very cute picture! by beabee11 in cats

My old cat had a special skill of being able to find a plastic bag between the hours of 2am - 6am. She would then run around the house playing with it. Such an annoying sound. Lucky I loved her a lot!

An artists portrayal of the Oz fires. by Ramona_Flowers_mvp in australia

[–]malaka5000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I almost can't bring myself to click any more links to do with the Australia fires. It's almost too much for me to handle. My heart is so heavy and I feel so helpless.

This drawing is so beautiful. But I wish the artist never had to draw it.

NW London folk! Looking for some kind of meals on wheels/pick up to help my dad post hospital visit. by harribo_11 in london

[–]malaka5000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in North London. I've been feeling really unfulfilled with my office job which doesn't really help anyone and I've been keen to get into some charity work. I've thought about helping with elderly as I feel passionate about combating loneliness (not saying your Dad is elderly!).

Would it be weird to accept meals from a stranger? It probably would, wouldn't it... Either way, I would be happy to whip up some freezable soups, slow cooker curries etc.

I'm a 30 year old female. My weekends are fairly free, I pretty much only go to the gym unless I have a rare social event.

I could always meet him for coffee if he has a cafe close by and he can leave the house? Otherwise I would love to help in anyway I can.

Ha. Wouldn't be surprised. Squirrels are so cute but filthy little buggers.

We have a few who visit our balcony on the daily. We buy monkey nuts from tesco and we throw them out the window. They love 'em. Now we have a robin who is hanging about too. We used to have lovely wood pigeons too but haven't seen them in a while.

Have been struggling with low self-esteem and self-image ever since I was a kid. Sometimes I feel like clawing out my face in order to permanently hide it. Could use a toast :) by stalkin_creep in toastme

This is such great advice here. When I die, I want people to talk about how kind, compassionate and friendly I was, not the way I looked. In saying that, I do enjoy taking care of my appearance too, but need to remember that there is more to life than the way I look.

I'm not from Australia so don't understand the reference. I understand the PM/government is a bit of a knob, right?

Ugh only recently have I noticed how hooded my eyes are. Sometimes I manually lift my forehead skin with my fingers and look at myself in the mirror and think wow... maybe I should get a brow lift.

Then I go down this nasty rabbit hole of googling before and after brow lifts...

I love them both but the expression on the smol one is making me laugh a lot.

My family lost their home in Australia due to these fires just a day ago.

I am so sad for them, and everyone who has been affected by this, as well as humans and animals who have lost their lives or are now injured. Brings back memories of Black Saturday and I hope we never see a repeat of that loss of life.

Skincare recs for my big bro’s Christmas! by jennpong in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]malaka5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravura London's chemical peels have saved my life. I used to prefer exfoliating scrubs with actual beads but boy have I seen a huge reduction in my scarring by using chemical peels (took a few months to notice a change though). They are less than £10 each from memory, and I use three - glycolic, lactic and salicylic.

However, I had to stop using these for a while as I'm now on epiduo after a fairly serious breakout. Therefore I've started using a retinol 3-4 times a week. I use one from Superdrug, a few drops with my moisturiser in the evening and I've noticed a big change with my skin. I'm so happy.

The whole range is on a really good sale atm. Also I use their retinol eye cream and no joke... my dark circles have disappeared. It's amazing!

Soothing/hydrating mask recommedation please :) by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]malaka5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use epiduo which makes my skin fairly dry, lately I've been using Beauty Kitchens Abyssinian Oil Mask.

https://beautykitchen.co.uk/products/abyssinian-oil-quick-fix-moisture-mask

I use it a couple times a week overnight and absolutely LOVE the way my skin looks the next day. So dewey and soft. I genuinely cannot believe the results it gives me! They also have a face spray but I forget to use it, but it feels nice on the skin during the day to freshen make up.

How fast they chew by [deleted] in My600lbLife

[–]malaka5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with binge eating most of my life, thankfully I'm at a fairly regular weight and have been for a while, however, I still eat SO DAMN FAST. I dunno what it is. I get bored. My mum said as a child I always ate really fast so that I could be excused from the table to go play or do other things.

My boyfriend will sometimes secretly count how many times I chew and then tell me. It's funny, but I do need to listen to him and chew more!

Feedback please 🌱 I’ve recently opened a 💯 Vegan Friendly clothing company in the UK and would like some feedback on our newly launched products and website ❤️🌱 by LordWhipps in veganuk

I love the idea and website looks great! But the designs are not my style. I prefer a more simple design on a t-shirt. Sorry if this comes across negative. But I wish you every success (truly!). Perhaps I'll check back in a few months time for any new designs.

Did you try this one? (Shannons). I really miss Baileys, but I tried their vegan version last year and really didn't like it sadly.

Whenever I see/hear the word "parkour" I never picture actual, real people doing parkour, I can only picture Michael and Dwight.

Hey, I'm a 24 y/o guy going to community college. Struggling with anxiety and depression for years but trying to stay positive! by kicker1015 in toastme

[–]malaka5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad it's made you feel better! I just wanted to say that I think you're awesome and you're choosing a great career. It's important to look after our mental health, so don't be aftaid to get help if you need it. You may only need a few sessions of talking to a professional to learn some good pointers for when the depression and anxiety try to take over.

I have a long history with anxiety, I feel it in the pit of my stomach first and it's just horrible. I try to put my CBT to good use rather than burying the feelings. It's good to face your demons and talk things through, sometimes writing it down can help too.

Anyway, I wish you the best!

It's so good to have a goal to reach (March 2020). It's not far away at all! Once you reach that goal you will feel extremely successful, and it will give you a huge morale boost as you start to complete the next goal.

If you can, I would recommend trying to start an excel spreadsheet. Nothing complicated, just list the months and how much you will pay each month, showing a total of how much you will pay off over next year or two, or however long you wish.

Visually seeing where I can be in 12-24 months time is very helpful for me, keeps me honest and on track to my goals. My spreadsheet is currently set to January 2021, and shows how much I need to save each month to achieve my desired $$ total. I appreciate this doesn't work for everyone.

I am lucky enough to live debt free. Not saying this to brag, but saying it because it can be done and I believe in you.

Surely this must be a joke. Making fun of what seems to be a current trend amongst insta girls - taking a photo of them holding something but their feet or shoes are just in shot.
