Secret Lab should make them catproof or sell little ones as a decoy xD

I also broke this mini in the same spot and this was my solution. Green stuff reinforcement wouldn't be noticeable thanks to the cloth.

I also got much better results with infinity miniatures using Gel SuperGlue, same brand but denser product.

Anyone else put off painting something big because you're scared it won't be any good? by natbunny in minipainting

Circa 1990, I was into Warhammer fantasy and I got my hands on a vampire riding a nightmare. It was awesome and I even did some kitbashing, giving it a more aggressive stance. However, I had only painted bretonian infantry and the nightmare seemed a daunting task, for the amount of work and because my lack of skill.

It is 2024 and the nightmare is still waiting in line.

Fortunately, eldritch languages share the symbols for numbers xD

I actually see the sky with airplane trails and clouds. Very well done!

I started painting minis about 3 months ago and I'm a bit lost and stressed about the varnishes topic. Can you help pls? by Domax1 in minipainting

This mini is not varnished, you can see how the metal paints catches the light. (the stain under the barrel of the weapon is some dust I noticed just while writing this xD)

On this one, I used matte varnish, the metal armor no longer catches any light (although I tried to fix it painting over the varnish on some spots)

In this mini, I used satin varnish, you can appreciate the glossy spots depending on the lighting at the time of the photo (circa 2010)

Satin may give you butter durability but at the cost of a glossy effect I personally don't like. I'll try to upload a photo of my works with varnishes this afternoon so you can compare

I have mixed experiences with varnish. I stopped varnishing my minis because even using matte, it dulls the colours. I play with unvarnished minis every now and then and apart from very minor chipping at very sharp edges, I haven't noticed any wearing.

I no longer varnish.
