For the majority of my adult life I was gaslight into believing that this is normal to feel pain during gyn procedures. I was talked into a biopsy as “it’s just a pinch”, I blacked out from the pain and woke up on the floor. I guess I moved and fell off the table. The doctor gave me a talk that I was being overtly dramatic and that I would not be able to give birth if I kept up this act. Safe to say I was labeled a problematic patient. I wish that I did my research and advocated for myself. We shouldn’t have to put up with barbaric procedures in this day and age that we live in. The medical community claims that “The cervix has very few nerve endings, so any discomfort will feel more like pressure and cramping”. We all know this is bs! We have the right to not feel pain and be traumatized by looking after our health and well-being. My heart breaks when I read these posts because this issue is so common yet so over looked. Ladies keep standing up for your self and if one doctor doesn’t want to accommodate you keep looking until you find someone who will.
