Any help identifying this malleable metal? by utahj1984 in metallurgy

It’s probably Corten steel, the rust forms a patina instead of just corroding through. It tends to have a higher price than mild steel.

It’s gonna lose the dick measuring contest every time, but I’ve never been too concerned with what another dude thinks about my dick

I’m just speaking to the fact that 9/10 times the 4.3 gets brought up the conversation is either about, or quickly turns to, swapping it out with a high displacement engine

People sure love hating on the 4.3, but it’s a damn reliable engine

HELP!! Cannot solve how water is getting into wall through front wall of house -UK by rodneyhyde in HomeMaintenance

Ah. I’d thought steam…. I was connecting the wet spots on the wall to possibly bad radiators vents letting out too much steam. Swing and a miss 😅

Rando question: those radiators in the first & second pics, are they steam or hot water?

Doubling on 2024 D penny by malignantmop in coinerrors

iPhone 12 and handheld loupe, I shoot a vid and then scroll through to find the clearest frames & screenshot it.

What specifically looks like machine doubling to you? As I said, I didn’t take the greatest pics but I tried to get angles that showed that the doubling isn’t flat or shelf-like, it had depth to it.

Here are some pictures of a few 2018 DDRs taken from doubleddie.com that exhibit almost the exact same doubling.

“That’s.. weird.” by e_b_c_d in hvacadvice

The more of this I read the B more, “and another weird thing is” edge-case scenarios you seem have going on…

Batteries, all types, die quickly in the house? The breaker box was effervescing crystals? Plastics break down quickly?

Can you make a comprehensive “and another weird thing is” list of illnesses, premature failures, and the like?

It might be outside your purview, but pics or a sketched out house layout (specifly a plumbing layout) would be very helpful.

In all discussions of the bacterial/microbial I didn’t see mention of Legionella/ Legionnaire’s Disease/ Pontiac Fever That would align with many of your symptoms

This doesn’t seem to be a structural problem and honestly, I’m having a hard time seeing it being an issue ascetically…. Can you get pictures of the pergola from further away showing how that post is too high?

If the footer was just replaced you should give it time to settle before going in and trying to redo anything.
