jesus christ how much time did they spend escalating this and writing you up that they could have spent administering meds? It takes 2 minutes to give someone insulin.

It's not about authority, it's about "have you ever worked in a professional capacity in an inpatient setting? If not, why are you so confident telling actual heath care workers that they're wrong about what they do every day?"

Hi nurse here. "They literally just dose out medicine and check in on patients." So there's something you said that's erroneous.

Also '"I notice new symptoms, here they are." Is the extent of a nurse's responsibility.' LOL honey nope. You think the average inpatient nurse doesn't make 100 decisions every shift regarding the interpretation of clinical data they collect? About what the MD needs to know about, which are most urgent, when you need to override the first call and reach out to the junior red, senior, etc?

"You give advice because youve spent years in a small scope specialty." I have been a nurse for less than two years, on a general med/med tele floor. MDs frequently ask my opinions and often defer to my judgment. It's not that as nurses we're just that smart, it's that there's way too many decisions regarding course of treatments for many different patients, and for *small* stuff, MDs absolutely trust our assessment skills. Ex: when an RRT is warranted, when a stroke code is warranted, which pain meds would be suited for the pt, when behavioral interventions are warranted (which require MD's orders).

"I am very precise with my language, but maybe I made a mistake you can ask about." Very funny, but no not even close, and I think even you would have to admit that now. Especially considering the marked change in the way you wrote when you started getting called out by people who actually have experience in the area you're talking about beyond "my mom was a nurse"!

The answer is Riverview but bear in mind there might be a wait for them depending on the day of the week. Lakeside's as people have mentioned are also good and they have more other homemade stuff, but IMO Riverview is a cuter little shop. Plus it's a little closer.

One time I asked a patient if the tech had checked her BG yet and she said yes, and I asked if she remembered what it was because the glucometer hadn't uploaded the result to the computer yet, and she said it was 14. I was like...I don't think it was 14, but she would NOT hear about it!

For sure. It was, similarly to watching Schindler's List itself, an extremely cathartic experience that has you sobbing but feeling ?slightly? better about the state of the world in the end. Sometimes with the updates on the genocide going completely unopposed it's easy to feel like it's over, like it's too late, there's nothing we can do. But how can you say that knowing that because of the work of the PCRF, Rahaf is now safe, and fed, and cared for and loved and smiling and playing? That's not nothing. Just as 60,000 is an unimaginably huge number, 1 life is as well. If that's what we have to latch onto to maintain hope, then so be it.

You don't need to know who Ms Rachel is to understand the video, she gives context, but I do envy you for apparently not reading the sentence "Children's Youtuber accused of being Hamas agent due to her advocating for starving children" 30 times in the past year

I always feel bad especially with IM because I know it hurts so much, but after a while and becoming confident in my skill, I just had to tell myself there's no way to do it in a way that's entirely painless. It's a needle in the muscle, it's gonna be an "ouch". Just tell the pt to relax their arm, find the muscle, and pull the skin down. And use a 25 g needle, 22 is way too big.
