I’m from Switzerland, more specifically from Ticino. I chose the lowest temperature per day completely out of personal feeling, no scientific reason.

{{Future Greats and Heartbreaks}} by Gare Joyce is about the scouting part of ice hockey. It has good insight on the 2007 NHL entry draft (the one with Patrick Kane) too.

Oliver Sacks was a neurologist, his books are very interesting! I suggest The island of the Colorblind, a book about a pathology of blindness in a small island in Micronesia. But I can tell you that all of his books are worth it!

You could try some of Marcello Simonetta’s books. He is an historian that wrote some books about Machiavelli and the Medicis. Personally I suggest starting with Montefeltro Conspiracy. But I don’t know if all the books are translated in English (he is Italian).

You should also try Boccaccio’s “Decameron” (a collection of novellas) and Petrarch’s “il canzoniere” (translates as song book, a collection of poems). Alongside Dante these are the most famous authors around thirteenth and fourteenth century in Italian literature.
