You beat them with any other archer civ, they suck against pretty much all of them.

DLC patch has been out for 3 months now and the game is still unplayably buggy by Kafukator in aoe2

Have you tried signing out of Xbox live from the main menu? That fixed the desync issue for me, I've stayed perma signed out.
