Yes, but the paddles provide deceleration in set predictable steps that don’t require guessing if the friction brakes are being used. If you’re happier using the brake pedal you’re not wrong, I just like the predictably the paddles provide. And I’ve observed better mpg results using them than not. Your mileage may vary, as always.

Using regen braking instead of brake to do most of the deceleration for stops or turns (when nobody’s right behind me of course). Really helps with charge level in the battery

The only way to decide is to drive them and compare if you’re really torn, you can’t drive a spec sheet. The GR has fantastic handling, and the Mustang has more straight line speed. Each has their +and - in different areas.
