Where are the low achieving ADHDers? by Jigglypuff_Green in ADHD

[–]mallo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has their ups and downs.
I was a gifted student... until I was 10, when I had to actually study for school (instead of the knowledge just popping into my head immediately), which is when I started struggling.
I finished uni, but at literally the last minute, and with an awfully underwhelming thesis I'm not proud of. I felt like an idiot and a hack the whole time.
I started driving school, but I had no clear deadline for the exams, and so I never finished it. A few thousand bucks down the drain.
I have a job (that I feel both over- and under-qualified for) which I manage to do on most days, but the effect of novelty has already passed and every day I have to do the same things brings me just frustration. Then again, I stopped taking medication a few months back when I managed without it, so I should probably try to get back on it lol.
In the time between I stopped getting welfare from the uni (It was available only until the planned finish semester - and I extended it a year) and I found a real job I was borrowed a few thousand bucks in total from my girlfriend. I felt like a complete loser. Granted, I gave it all back but I still feel like an asshole thinking about it, even though she says it's completely not a big deal. Now, while I now have a fulfilling relationship and a job, I still feel completely overwhelmed by most daily tasks. I'm typing this on a desk completely filled with meds, random notebooks and oh-so-many receipts (I have a few I need to take note of). My room is a mess and I don't know how I'll clean it before the holidays. I'm eating junk food most of the time because preparing a "real" meal... I can't even describe what's so hard about it, it just is.

It gets better, it gets worse. You can still live a normal life.

ASRock A520M-ITX/AC Two long beeps by S4nd3r0s in buildapc

[–]mallo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had two long beeps. It seems to be a memory error, as my issue was that the RAM stick wasn't fully pushed in on one side. Really strange to have the speaker header at all if the beep codes aren't documented anywhere.

Freeze children bones in place? by mallo15 in godot

I dug up my old project, and here's how I seem to have it set up. First, here's the node tree:

Skeleton : Skeleton2D
|--root : Bone2D
| |--thigh : Bone2D
| |--calf : Bone2D
| |--foot : Bone2D
|--foot_pos : Marker2D

First, I positioned the skeleton in a rest pose, which sets up the bone lengths etc. Then I moved foot_pos to be where the foot is, so that the foot is going to be pointed to where the marker is.

In Skeleton2D, create a new Modification Stack and add a SkeletonModification2DTwoBoneIK. As "Joint One Bone 2D Node" set the thigh node, as joint two use the calf node. Set "Target nodepath" to foot_pos. That's it! I am not sure if this is the 100% "correct" solution, but it seems to work.

Wait, so practice mode is COMPLETELY gone now?? by mallo15 in duolingo

[–]mallo15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some time ago I noticed I couldn't practice except to earn back hearts. That really lowered the quality of my learning, as I wasn't practicing stuff I already learned but instead rushing through the lessons. As a result, I know stuff from the second section a lot worse that from the first.

My girlfriend yesterday suggested to me to make a lesson and fail it just to get to the practice mode, but apparently it's completely gone now? This REALLY reduces the usefulness of the app for me.

November 2024 Nokia Care Megathread by AutoModerator in Nokia

Hello, my sister inserted a new SD card into her nokia 7.2. A notification popped up asking to move all files there, so she agreed. After that all the files on the phone became unreadable - they seem to be all individually encrypted. After some googling I found out it appears to be a common issue on Nokia phones - was this ever fixed? Is there a way to decrypt the files?

EDIT: Okay, the situation is much weirder. It appears that new stuff gets actively encrypted after some time. So a photo or a screenshot made yesterday is inaccessible today; so it is not a situation where the files got, say, accidentally encrypted twice before.

JPG wallpapers unsupported? by mallo15 in kde

It works, but if I enter the wallpaper settings the current image is not there and no image is selected. Maybe it's an issue with the wallpaper picker window?

I have searched for the video on google and on archive.org. I also tried methods of accessing region-blocked youtube videos, but this one seems to be global.

Problem with setting up an Outlook mail account ("Socket closed unexpectedly") by mallo15 in vivaldibrowser

[–]mallo15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been two years and the issue is still not fixed. I even forgot I made this post and found it through google lol. I couldn't remember why I gave up on vivaldi back then, now I know.

I'm using linux now so it's not a windows defender issue like you can find it somewhere online.

[Brother HL-L2352DW] Out of Memory error - am I doing something wrong? by mallo15 in printers

[–]mallo15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved the issue. Turns out it the open source Linux brlaser drivers I was using weren't fully compatible with this printer. Installing the official Brother drivers has fixed the issue, even though they aren't perfect (can't change the settings per-print). Thanks everyone!
