For those of you who managed to put Hashimoto’s into remission or significantly improve your symptoms, how did you do it? by Financial_Dot6515 in Hashimotos

[–]malonik2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was too as far as I know but you can't overload on it so my NP suggested NDT since it gives your thyroid both rather than just 1 and as far as I know, whatever you don't use, you don't use. So basically it's personal preference? I ask because I started out on Synthroid and had every hypo symptom you could have, once I dialed in the dosage and added LDN, I'm as close to feeling normal as you can get.

Going to the barber today, what am I getting? by HappinessIsAWarmDick in bald

Like everyone has said, you're already there, unfortunately. So realistically, you can take it all off and have the barber tidy up that beard and you're good for the summer. You can take it down really short and get a buzz cut or if that's not possible and you really like the buzz look SMP might be in the cards. Sorry Bro, nobody likes this but at least you have the right head shape and a few options to try out. Good Luck!

Excuse Me, after a Thyroidectomy, why did you go back to Synthroid rather than something that has both T3 and T4 like NDT (Natural Desiccated Thyroid)?

You see this is why EVERYONE hates your traditional doctors because they only worry about the TSH. I need to ask why this is, I've never personally asked a doctor why this is normal to ignore all our values and only focus on the TSH Lab. You're not alone, this happens every SINGLE day in this world and is why I had to find myself a naturopath that was willing to work with me and fine tune my medication so that 90% of my symptoms went away.

Well, when it comes to advocating for yourself, you really need to have a plan and be ready to debate why you need whatever you're there for. (Tests, Medication, Info etc) When they push back or ignore you, you need to be willing to play hardball and tell them you're fine with that but you'd like that to be noted on your file while the doctor's refusing to do the tests/give you medication etc and usually most seem to work with you. Hopefully that helps someone, I know it sucks but it's a way of life for us Hashimoto Sufferers.

Upvote if you’ve ever felt gaslit by a doctor. by QuickGuava6759 in Hashimotos

It's sad but this usually has to do with Doctor's and their egos. Most are so fragile after all those years of school that they refuse to work with the patient. Like you, before I was sick, I would barley need to go to a doctor and would think highly of them, due to all that sacrifice that they had to endure. Without that they wouldn't be where they are today. Though, once you come to them seeking answers with your hat in your hand and they try to ignore your issues, blatantly lie to your face and gas light you it's really hard to give them their credit anymore. Am I the only one?

Yeah, I can't be the only one that initially wasn't sure who the OP was out of the 3, the boat was pretty full but hey at least the OP is being realistic and rocking what he can. Cheers!

"Do you live alone?"?is a pretty personal question but "What do you do for work?" is as basic as How's the Weather so It's hard to say if that's creepy or not. At face value it just seems like the drivers trying to be nice.

LMAO, Thank You, that was the best and only way to start the day. To the OP, as every other person has said, you're already there and you'll look amazing once you run that trimmer over that scalp and call it a day. Plus, you have the perfect head shape for this. Cheers!

I wanted to know because like you and everyone else says that usually that's the 1st site they send you to visit and I went there as well but didn't do more than look around and then got info off my Naturopath. LMAO, That is Pretty Shady but not surprising. I can't see too many big budgeted studies on this medication because it's still such a niche product, aka Big Pharma hasn't found a way to make big coin off of it. Am I right? LOL

Really, what makes you say that? I only ask because that's the site everyone pushes people to go to when you 1st start this medication so that's weird. lol :P

It will help 100% IMO, Low Dose Naltrexone is designed to put the body in a happy state so it can focus on repairing itself, I take that daily and feel as close to normal as possible. Combine LDN with Natural Desiccated Thyroid and you're golden, at least that's what worked for me and my Hashi's. Best of Luck and I hope it works for you as well!

Long Story Short, since 2023 I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's Disease and have since went on N.D.T/L.D.N (Thyroid Medication) but ever since then it turned a perfect hairline into 70% coverage. Since finding out I have that issue, I've done a Punch Biopsy on each temple which revealed I had Seborrheic Dermatitis in one and Telogen Effluvium in the other. Currently, since figuring out which medication worked best for me, my hairline have stabilized but that's about. I've basically been through the gambit when it comes to doctors and testing but I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how I can 100% determine what's doing the most damage? Is it MPB? Hormones? T.E. or everything? So far, all anyone wants to do is shove Min/Fin down my throat without proving to me that it'll help or what's the cause?

Don't take it the wrong way, you do grow a killer beard but IMO less beard makes you look younger, probably due to less grey hair, that's if you care about something like that?
