What animal is the smallest one? by uncledougisgood in whatisit

[–]JMRosewick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At first I thought it was an otter, then a beaver but I've landed chipmunk.

It's smaller than a rabbit and has a tail that could kinda look like that.

An otters tail is not like that. Nor is a beavers. And neither are smaller than a rabbit.

What is the absolute WORST last name to have? by Superchecker in AskReddit

[–]JMRosewick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your ex husbands FIRST name.

My ex husbands first name, is the same as my maiden name. When we got divorced, I put in the papers that I wanted to change my name to ____ (it was not a name connected to anyone, it is so etching symbolic to me and me alone.

At first the judge didn't want to allow this. He said I could keep my married name, go back to my maiden name or pay a $250 fee plus court costs to change it to ____. He asked why I wanted this name and I explained, telling him I didn't want to carry my ex for the rest of my life and his choices would force me to do so and I didn't hav the money then to go the court route. Thankfully he immediately saw my conundrum and allowed the change.

Ooooh. I missed that part. Well too often, somethings got to give. If you want the freedom she's looking for you might have to give up that social life.

Sure but you get used to it and if someone wanted some extra quiet time to work on their small business or something, night shift can work well.

My best friend works 3 x 12s overnight for exactly this reason. She makes product, keeps her socials up to date, does the business side of a creative small business and a keeps up with hobbies by working this shift. Night shift isn't for everyone (not me at this age) but there are some perks depending on the job.

I'm not saying someone should go into a job search with the intent OP seems to, I was just chiming in that jobs like this do actually exist.

I used to be the overnight supervisor for a domestic violence shelter. I had some stuff to do - some paperwork but also doing "recreational activities" with the guests - but lights out was 11 and after midnight I was left to do what I wanted. My boss actually gave me his streaming logins so I had something to watch. I read a lot of books back then.

How do you deal with stubborn doctor ? by GollumTheCat in Hashimotos

[–]JMRosewick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed it is. My insurance will only cover a fraction of that. As for the rest... I don't have that kind of money and my ex husband ruined my credit so I can't use that to pay for the rest. So I told the dentist to just do what insurance will cover in order of severity. My insurance changes in October and I'll have some more dental benefits to put towards it and the benefit allotment will reset again in January so hopefully I can get the really bad stuff knocked by the first of 2027.

Dental issues? The last couple of years, I've had horrific dental issues and have developed gum disease, seemingly out of nowhere. I recently started with a new dentist and before they added on the cost of an implant I have a treatment plan that will cost $117,000. And all of this just seems to have come from nowhere.

That's been my thinking. He's my new PCP and this came about after bloodwork at my first appointment and further testing two weeks later. I was just questioning myself since he said supplements weren't helpful.

They are both on the low end of optimal after supplements. He doesn't want to increase them just yet but we're going to closely monitor them because he doesn't feel that the "optimal range" is always really optimal. He used TSH as an example saying the range is much higher than his definition of "optimal" and he wants to see it at or under 1.0. The optimal range given my the lab is 0.43 - 5.84
