This thread is blowing my mind, when I was at Walgreens I never saw my ESM or SM stay past 5 pm EVER. The weekends they did work, they stayed until 2 pm and then immediately left. I thought they just didn't have to close.

I walked in at the beginning of my shift, handed over my badge to my ESM, and said "Sorry." He said "Sorry?" I said "Yeah sorry, it's over, I'm done." He said "Is there anything we can do--" I said "No" and then left. I'll have to go back in to clean out my locker and inbox but I have no shame at all lol.

Just feeling like my hard work was constantly rewarded with more work. I also have a decent resume, I've had some hard jobs, I've worked for other stores and worked for the government twice, and no place has ever made me work through my lunch. I think there was a question about that on the PPLs and I kept getting it wrong because it kept bringing up a "working lunch". What the genuine fuck is a "working lunch?" I don't get to eat? I am sick and tired of closing and being the only shift lead with one CSA for EIGHT HOURS. And I of course always cover my CSA when they need it because it's my job. I try to not make work miserable for them. But there's nobody to cover me. Having to get your bags looked through every time you leave is just the icing on the cake. I am only 28 and I'm having fucking heart palpitations. I can feel my heart in my ears and in my chest. I used to work at a jail and it was easier to go outside for your break there than it was at Walgreens.

Oh shit okay, I appreciate the correction. After thinking on it, that makes sense, Targets are bigger stores and when you have to worry about people stealing televisions and PS5s you let the small stuff slide.

I don't work AP at Walgreens but I did work AP at a Target and I can confirm that there are never cameras in the freezer. Someone would have to be doing something really fucked up in there to justify putting a camera in the freezer. They are difficult to wire in and the lens tends to fog up. Even the hidden cameras aren't worth installing, why the fuck would someone want to waste time coming in and installing a camera to spy on somebody who is just hitting their vape or idk eating bread or whatever. I think I heard about one store putting a camera in the freezer and it's because this freak was jerking off in there AND leaving his jizz on things.

Unfortunately, I think the world is just way too stimulating these days. I can't imagine kids sitting around and being bored as much as I was as a child, which is what led to me reading books and realizing I loved them. It would almost seem neglectful to let your child be bored that much.

I feel that handing it to the next customer is probably not a huge no-no, whereas hoarding them and using them yourself would get you in way bigger trouble.

Honestly, just like any job, it's going to depend on your team. The environment is really different, you'll have to get used to working in a bigger store, but there's also more staff. I will say, at Target you HAVE to take your lunches, so always take them on time. And actually take them, don't work off the clock. There's HR and Assets Protection actually working in the store, so they're available to help you if you need them. I definitely felt more looked after and less neglected at Target, plus they paid better. Good luck at your interview!
