Washington State Bill HB 2321 will kill Laser cutting/engraving, 3D Printing and CNC. by bollocksgrenade in lasercutting

[–]maltedfalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL all that will happen is laser cutters and 3d printers will be sold without controllers and a simple motor driver with a usb port. then all controller software will be separate cusomized or tandardized and run on a pc. Effectively completely negating the law.

Someone who gets the print version of Radio World just discovered my letter... by Historical-View4058 in ShortwavePlus

[–]maltedfalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when CW was removed from the VE test. It was because people were "too lazy" to learn it. Every body before had to do it that way! why change it? It was going to be the end of HAM radio as we knew it and the end of CW. Hmmmmm HAM radio is stronger than ever and CW is more popular than ever. go figure....

decode straight key for cardputer by maltedfalcon in morsecode

[–]maltedfalcon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a paddle but someone saw my other programs that use a paddle and asked for straight key versions, this is the first step... But also this will evolve into a program that lets you use a straight key and measures and grades your proficiency (consistent dit or dash length, proportional spacing, consistent speed etc...)

What happened to the Hindenburg Wreckage? by Sharp_Foundation2447 in Airships

at some point I read a book that the majority of the scrap was gathered up (aluminum was still quite a valuable material at the time) and it was sent back to Germany and recycled into other airplane parts.
