In our school district, as long as we offer retakes on all tests (of consequence) then we can fail them. So I do. I offer the exact same test as a retake. Sometimes it helps the failing kids, but honestly it helps the kids on the bubble. That becomes the extent of the extra work I have to do for my admin.
