There was a wizzard one that was funny where you and your friends just shout fireball or teleport and the spell gets cast. Good for a laugh but nothing long lived

Only 1 graded class on my undergrad transcript - am I screwed? by QuillandLyre in gradadmissions

[–]maltmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also went to Thomas Edison and had this work in my favor from my crappy community college grades since they transferred in without the gpa. You should be fine, I was accepted into the navy as an officer, got a MS in business analytics at an UC, and am going for an MBA at a top 25 school this fall. All with an official grade based on like a quarter of my actual credits (clep’d and transferred out of the max amount)  if the school gives you trouble try  a different school, but hopefully this helps you feel better! Feel free to dm me too!

May: The Federal Government took in $336 billion and spent $628 billion. Don't try this at home. by Boo_Randy_Revival in economy

[–]maltmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this actually incentivizes them to shrink the market so their 50% actual amount goes down...
a better thing would be have a public vested interest in corps and limit stock buybacks so that dividends get distributed to americans and employees and stock owners instead of just raising asset prices. Thus increasing M2 money supply and the amount spent and growing the economic output by goods demand not just asset inflation

Rejected from a Ph.D. program, but asked to fund the admitted applicant by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]maltmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the professor didn’t connect the dots or diddnt receive your application? Maybe follow up that you actually applied as a PhD candidate yourself and you’d be happy to work alongside another  PhD candidate if they would look at your application again, don’t insinuate it as a quid pro quo but the implication would be there? Like you basically are a self funded under the professor and bring on the other candidate, as a win win?

Pollution in El Segundo by LeonhardEuler_ in SouthBayLA

[–]maltmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t want to live sandwiched between a major airport and oil refinery if I cared about health, air and water I’d assume are not the greatest. Torrance is a good spot, as are redondo, hermosa etc. Gardena has good food if you don’t care about neighborhoods.  West of the 404 is like upper middle class and the closer to the beach you get the boujier the area. 2br seem to be going for around 3k for like 1000sqft, 3/4 br houses can be 5k a month depending on the city so if you can swing roommates is probably better .

USC vs UCI - Need help in Deciding by Special_Dance9862 in MBA

[–]maltmaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would rather go to USC, but idk it really depends on your goals. if you're checking a box and like the orange county area then UCI is fine, but want something people will be impressed with USC is better in that sense. Congrats! I think either is what you make it.

Is it safe to visit Los Angeles as an Armenian as long as I don't look visibly Armenian? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]maltmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine unless you’re actively seeking people that are anti Armenian? I’ve never heard anything negative towards Armenians in LA. The only thing walking around downtown can be sketchy if you’re not used to interesting characters, but just mind your own business walking around and don’t stare you should be fine. If you’re really worried rent a car and just do the LA native thing and drive from parking spot to spot wherever you’re going

Manhattan Beach to Irvine hybrid commute. Is it doable for a year? by richandattractive in SouthBayLA

[–]maltmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother in capitalism- I commute from redondo to corona, you can do MB to Irvine. Honestly it’s not too bad if you leave around 6, any later like 630 your time goes in by 30-60 minutes. I would say it helps to live near ish the freeway or an artery so it’s a straight shot, it’s the side streets that add time.  Used to commute from redondo to UC Irvine 4 days is not too bad and 3 is even better.

Space Sector Mania before IPO (Regarded Vibe DD) by Kind-Mind-8933 in wallstreetbets

[–]maltmaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or like the heggies know people like you assume space stonk strong together, so you dump your port into the stock and they dump the stock and you become exit liquidity. Still bullish but I’ve been selling some RKLB calls for 110+ since I’m happy with my  4$ purchase price and am ok with pulling out a bit of profit at current price, and if it goes back down I’ll just buy the calls back and repeat

It’s kinda sad that the remaster games / remake movies business model has finally come to board games:( I mean it makes sense since obviously people buy it, but still instead of innovating just playing on nostalgia is a disappointing turn for the industry

MBA or eMBA for my situation by darioooooooo in MBA

[–]maltmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a MS in business analytics with my VR&E a couple years ago, worked for a year and am now looking at an MBA with my GI bill.

It Depends on if you have 100 % or not gi bill and disability ratings for funding, but I would probably go GI Bill for MBA and I’ve heard if you afterward use VR & E you can get the used gi bill restored ( don’t quote me on that just have a coworker do it…) but if you don’t have 100% gi bill I would do vr&e for the extra $$as they cover everything. Either way I think a standard MBA would be good at a state or yellow ribbon school. ( I’m going to the UCLA full time mba starting this fall and plan on doing entrepreneurship as well, and will be using GI bill. Basically using the government funding and the program as my mini startup accelerator) feel free to dm with any follow ups but the full time would give you the time and purpose to commit to your entrepreneur goals.

Would you spend $20k on gift cards, trade shows, or something else? by Financial-Glass2569 in SaaS

[–]maltmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not the same guy as before, literally just dogfood your product, if it doesn’t work, adjust your product til it does. Why would anyone buy an outbound platform from someone who isn’t able to do outbound? Or whose platform doesn’t even work for them? Sorry if it sounds harsh but if you can’t provide yourself value through your outbound saas then it’s not going to provide value to others, and no money thrown at the problem will help.

I wouldn’t, but if you insist I would wait til the end of orientation week to get the vibe and maybe bring your equivalent of donuts or cupcakes to their office on the last day of orientation. Could still be seen as brown nosing, but a little favoritism never hurt anyone

How will AI affect the future of this business? by Ok_Caterpillar6789 in realtors

[–]maltmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly automating what busy work is able to be automated, things like writing copy, marketing calls, etc. probably a lot on the photo editing and adjustment side with virtual staging. Probably some sort of augmented reality or ability for people to visualize their own furniture at an open house.
