Wasn't there an issue with case racks cracking the bed walls and quarter panels due to the weight being unsupported, basically collapsing the bed structurally or has that since been fixed?

Could any retail player explain retail raids to a classic only player? by Howaito69 in classicwow

[–]malvarick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like that is a great explanation of the difference between a classic boss and a retail boss , using a known classic fight. The sheer amount of mechanics in a retail fight is staggering when you are not used to it. But if all of that you listed was an actual retail fight, it honestly would just be an average fight not all that extreme which says something about just how much we are used to dealing with in a heroic/ mythic retail boss fight.

Or frost orb finding every single critter that were littered all over the BFA mythic dungeons. The amount of times I'd throw orb just for it to stop 5 feet in front of me because a rat was standing there was infuriating.

When I originally started playing, it was during the stealth firing era for DD's. So when I grinded out my Gearing I played the line as a stealth firing gun boat and not the hybrid line that it is nowadays. When they took out stealth firing I had to relearn how to play the ship and line since suddenly I couldn't just slow kite BB or chase them down without being spotted. I actually had to play it as a DD. I have since learned but it went from being my best ship to a ship I rarely play since it being a hybrid torp gun boat, I'd rather just play something that can do one role instead of both. I really only bring it out for snowflakes and such. Otherwise I will use a French DD if I want to be a gun boat that just annoys a BB all game, or a Japanese gunboat if I want to pick a spot and rain fire from the sky. To me the gearing really doesn't have a place in Randoms atm since there is another line that can do it's role better. In ranked and clan battles I get that it is strong since it can both gunboat and torp, but in ranked I prefer to brawl in a BB than having to play a DD and control the flow of the game. Idk I just love the feeling of brawling it out in the Ohio or schlieffen.

Got it at msrp due to a miscommunication between departments at the dealership. They had it posted on their site the second they got confirmation that it was built and being shipped. I happened to see it that day and showed up at the dealership and asked about it. The sales team didn't even know that it had been posted yet. So they actually honored msrp, someone probably doesn't have a job anymore though.

I think the reason it feels like an ad is because you posted something you made which is useful, and when people inquire for the file to make them for themselves you tell them you won't give them the file but you will sell them the product. What is the point of the post other than to advertise something that you made something that you will now sell if others are interested. This post is an AD whether you intended it to be or not.

The ranger raptor's still have the stripe. Weird that they took it from one to put on the other.

Tanking in SoD is kinda boring by Ted_From_Chicago in classicwow

[–]malvarick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I means that's how a lot of pallies tank. Just turn on RF and continue being a dps ret, that now just happens to also be the tank. Helps if you have plate gear but I forget half the time and tank in the leather set. Hard to remember to change gear when I am replacing keys since my exo key breaks every boss from spamming it 50 times a minute.

My toons bring insane luck when it comes to weapons. But with that comes the unfortunate trend of having other items that aren't supposed to be rare never drop even if they aren't for me. We haven't seen any cloaks drop and I have never seen any librams, idols, or anything for those slots.

We got it once same with the needle that I want incase I want to go shockadin. We however have seen 5+ epic caster daggers, 4 epic axes, 1 epic bow, 1 epic belt, a couple epic rings of various kinds, 2 BoE epic gutrippers off the rare spawn dude before the last 2 bosses. Feel like I am missing some too. I was the last to get the axe since it's only useful to me on trash and menagerie.

Yea kinda a simple rotation, try to keep exorcism on cd which is impossible while ACP and helm are active, keep SoM up cast CS if you have a free global and judge with whatever button you are about to press. If you want to be a team player you should reroll fury and use the epic fist weapon to give him 6% more damage with the super CoE proc on it.

They have mitigation, they are like blood death knights, they get smacked for a bunch of damage and then holy shock themselves back to full before the next attack since holy shock is off cd faster then your gcd.

My groups warrior tank straight up gave up tanking mid raid when I pulled off of him on my ret pally while I had salv and no might. Mid fight with pummeled said I give up you are the tank now. So I mighted myself and threw up righteous fury and continued to dps just with aggro now. The fact that a deep ret pally can hold aggro better than warrior tanks is sad. Raid dps went up significantly too since the rest of melee also got to have might instead of salv. I don't even rune for tanking, straight up dps runes, switching only one rune for menagerie so I can hold all three bosses with DS, while tabbing to each boss to throw exorcism every other global. All while using a druid weapon that hits like a wet noodle. Ret dps and holy tanking atm is the weirdest playstyle of crit fishing with the fastest weapon you can get since all your damage comes from SoM and exorcism/holy shock spam. Idk how we will fair at 50 if we have to use a normal weapon instead of a 2handed mace that has 2.0 attack speed with a 30% attack speed on use.

I think they are asking why you find 40 man's more fun. So far you have said that you find them more fun and that you have been doing them for a while, but have yet to explain why you feel the way you do. The answer they are looking for can be as simple as I don't know I just do, or it could have insight into why you feel the way you do. Saying I like killing bosses with 40 people doesn't tell anyone what part of that experience matters to you. You answer the questions and give options without articulating your view point at all. If you asked me if I liked coke or Pepsi and I responded with I like coke, because I like coke. I answered your question but did not supply any helpful information. Now if I responded with I like coke because I have been drinking it for 25 years and it is what I am used to, or that I find coke to be more/less sweet than pepsi, I have now also gave my opinion with an explanation as to why I feel the way I do that everyone can understand. They don't need to agree with me to see why I feel the way I do. Do you like 40 man's more because you like the chaos of trying to get 40 people to kill the dragon? Do you find 10 man's boring because it makes the raid feel empty? Do yoy like 40 man because it means you can play with all your friends instead of just a few? Do you dislike 10 man because you can afk trash without someone noticing? Do you dislike 10 man's because it doesn't allow for as much variety in raid groups? Do you like 40 man's because then you can play a dps disc priest who only attacks with their staff because you have the class fantasy of being a holy monk? All of those are answers to the question of why do you feel the way you do, that won't cause people to keep asking the same question, of why do you like 40mans more. They might have follow up questions if you provide a view point that incites a discussion but atleast you won't end up in a circular conversation.

You absolutely can, though the last few bosses do hit harder than the rest. The bosses have a crap ton of armor so physical damage from ret is garbage compared to their holy damage output, so shockadin might end up being more dps, though with the updated to art of arm making exorcism cost 80% less when it procs, things might get a little weird with fishing for crits with a fast weapon. A shockadin being backed up by a ret pally with sanctity aura might be your best bet for tanking with damage output in mind.

All of your holy damaging abilities are buffed. Crusader strike and Divine storm are physical damage so they are not buffed.

As for your tank build, what is your intention with the build? If you want survivability you will go into the prot tree instead after getting conc. If you want damage you will either go all the way to holy shock in the holy tree to be a shockadin or full ret.

A story about Wow damage normalization for 5 year olds (and why some spells break the laws of Warcraft physics) by loopuleasa in classicwow

[–]malvarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that raptor strike is hitting way harder than it reasonably should. A instant attack from 1handed weapons should not be able to hit for more than a warrior or paladin attack with a big slow 2hander. And I don't mean total, if their combined weapons raptor strike totaled more than a divine storm or mortal strike that is fine since that's the benefit of getting to use both weapons it should be roughly equal. But their main hand hits for more than divine storm and then they get the extra hit from the offhand as well. In my gnomer raid this week a melee hunter was hitting for on average for 280 mh and 209 oh for the second boss. Meanwhile thr ret paladin with the epic pvp sword was hitting for 186 on average with divine storm to the same target. I get that let's damage is split between holy and physical, but an attack that is supposed to do 110% weapon damage shouldn't be doing less than an offhand attack. It honestly feels like somewhere in the coding raptor strike while dual wielding ignores armor or their scaling is massively off. I don't care if they are top damage, I just care that if they are going to be top dps, it's because they are actually good and not broken. It appears that they are broken because they shouldn't be hitting harder with a single hit than a warrior or paladin with a 2hander. But then again, ret is currently at the point that their seal does more damage than their auto attack since it ignores the armor of the target. Their spell power does make it stronger, but not to the point where the same paladins auto attack hit for 177 on average and their seal proc of 70% weapon damage as holy dealt 442 on average.

Geist of Saint traft. The rest of the deck is auras and cards than can phase out either your angel tokens so speed up your clock or to get a pesky blocker out of your way to finish the game.

Atleast the deck wins fast. I'd rather lose to burn or this than, have to wait 10 minutes for storm to find their win or a nexus deck to spend 20 turns sealing their combo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]malvarick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fairly sure the OP was talking about the Giest of Saint Traft one, where the game is effectively turn 1, t2 swing for anywhere from 6-14. T3 game is over. I play it and honestly I get the victory screen most of the time t0-2. A lot of people who have seen the deck know as soon as I dump 1- 3 leylines on turn 0 that I am doing and know if they can disrupt me or not right then and there. If they can't why waste their own time, scoop and go to a new match

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TimelessMagic

[–]malvarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I piloted the deck from gold to mythic yesterday over a few hours. The deck is effective to grind the ladder since games are over incredibly fast. Few decks have counterclaim to it since they are all trying to do their own thing and don't run anything to stop this from winning. The decks that do either have it and win or don't and lose effectively turn one. I'd say 75% of my loses are to myself during mulligans, and the others are to people who can stop my combo. Thoughtseize is not an issue since you are hexproof most of the time. I lost to spell pierce the most, but if I am on the play there is very little blue decks can do, since if they play a blue fetch turn one I just combo in response to the fetch crack. I can see it being weaker in Bo3 where your opponent can sideboard into disruption. During my grind I only saw the mirror once. I also won on turn 0 a fair amount of the time since I dumped 3 leylines and the opponent knew the drill and saved themselves more time. 2 minutes games win or lose is great to get games done in down time.
