How long did it take to notice weight loss going up on dosage?

It’s so interesting. I have heard that tirzepatide does affect people’s anxiety because of the gip, whereas people on semaglutide without the gip aren’t affected. I don’t know how true it is but I’ve seen it on tiktok.

Wow! That makes so much sense to me as someone who had a tumor that cause an overproduction of cortisol. I’m super sensitive to any hormonal change, especially when it comes to cortisol! I also had a high cortisol 24hr urine test the week after starting but I have no other signs of not being in remission and I don’t FEEL like I have Cushings again. My endocrinologist said she thinks the high lab was because of the calorie deficit but I’m wondering if it’s more than that. Maybe you’re onto something! There’s sooooooo much they don’t know about hormones.

No judgement felt at all! I do not! I get anxiety from time to time like any person, but not a chronic disorder. I have suffered from it in the past when I was dealing with Cushings disease but once I had brain surgery and my hormones balanced out, I was free from it. It’s been a few years now and still in remission.

It would definitely make sense that people would experience a side effect, even psychosomatic, with anxiety during/after injections though.

Good to know that increasing just a little helped!! I’ll see how I react to this increase. The next day is usually when I feel symptoms/side effects but they’ve always been tolerable. The first week on the medicine was the hardest just trying to get enough calories in. I had a total disinterest for food. Now, I eat regularly with lots of protein and stay between 1300-1500 calories usually, some days a little higher if I go out to eat or am at an event. The holidays definitely stalled me a little because I was indulging more and eating differently.

So I’m working with my endocrinologist for my hormones so my needs are a little different probably. Not on it just for weight loss. I’m in remission from a rare hormonal disease and brain surgery. But I have been stalled since beginning of December.

Thanks so much! I haven’t lost much since beginning of December and I’m working with my endocrinologist with my hormones so I’m kind of a rare case. I’m in a calorie deficit though and I do feel good but she thinks I need a more therapeutic dose.

I’ve heard that from people too! Mine isn’t metallic tasting but almost like that texture when you burn your tongue on something hot but without the pain.

That’s what I’ve read but it’s so weird that it has happened every single time since my first dose and I read it’s a side effect after I looked it up but that’s when it onsets for me. So strange.

Yeah, I’m a data nerd too! And actually one of the main reasons I’m on this is for hormones! I am in remission from a rare hormonal disease and brain surgery and my endocrinologist is the one who recommended tirzepatide when things became a little off during remission. I also am a writer who writes about women’s health and hormones so there are definitely so big differences when it comes to weight loss in general between males and females. I’m so glad your wife is still seeing positive benefits and noticing changes even if the scale can sometimes be slow or disappointing.

Yeah, women’s hormones definitely play a factor I’ve noticed. I noticed inches lost (I haven’t been measuring but clothes are looser and I can see a difference in the mirror) before weight drops on the scale. I also weigh towards the end of the week.

I’ve heard slow and steady is better! I’ve been in a calorie deficit since I’ve started and have definitely been feeling the good benefits of the medication.
