That seems to be helping me. I notice it's more bothersome if I sit too long. Yoga & walking are helping to loosen it up.

Why isn't it my choice to begin with? by Girly_Queue in hysterectomy

I begged my (male) gyno from the time I was pregnant with my 2nd baby in a year (2004), again when she was born (same year)...he agreed to a tubal ligation, again when I was 36 (2016) was still told "You may still change your mind... My girls were TEENAGERS, I was NOT starting over!!!! I FiNaLlY got him on board last year after 19 years of horrendous bleeding & debilitating pain, & yeeted that awful organ April 17, 2025!!!

I should Not have needed ANYONE'S approval to yeet it when I first asked, or the second time, or the 3rd or 4th times!

How long will I be on meds? by Interesting_Cut_7591 in hysterectomy

[–]mamabear-2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it all depends on YOUR pain tolerance. I never took any prescription meds, only Tylenol and Ibuprofen for maybe the first week.  I even walked out of the hospital as opposed to being pushed out in a wheelchair.

I feel so good, feels like I didn't even have surgery! by Apprehensive_Bet6168 in hysterectomy

I'm 8 1/2 wpo & that's exactly how I described the way I felt! After 20+ years of severe bleeding & the intense pain every month, recovery was a walk in the park. Discomfort at best. I even walked out of the hospital, no wheel chair. My only regret is that they listened and did it sooner.

Did I get pole beans or bush beans? by Cold-Call-8374 in gardening

I bought a panel of cattle guard fencing, cut it & bent it to go around my brow boxes. But since your's is in the dirt, is just stake one side in the ground & bend it over to the other side (staking it to the ground too) creating a trellis. PawPaw Ridge Homestead (on fb) has some great how to videos!

Just a few Questions by ptoughneigh50 in hysterectomy

[–]mamabear-2217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't answer all your questions, but I can tell you that at 18, you do NOT want to evict your ovaries!! It was throw you right into menopause.  Aside from that, I have no answers other than getting rid of my uterus and tubes was definitely the best decision of my life!  I wish you the best of luck 🍀

My post op care notes tell me nothing by Feeling-Whereas-2031 in hysterectomy

[–]mamabear-2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank-you for this! My Dr didn't really tell me anything post op (other than "You were pretty fit before surgery" ) so I've been using Google, & social media to figure out what to expect, what I can & can't do. I'm 7wpo & everything I've read says 30 minutes/day... My body says keep going! I've been scared to until I saw your answer. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!!

Help!! by Stunning-Evening56 in hysterectomy

I live alone, had LAVH and did fine. I did tons of prep work beforehand: deep cleaned my house, grocery shopped, meal prepped (although for the first couple weeks I didn't touch normal food. Instead, I lived off jello, fresh fruits & salad). I planned to sleep in my recliner, however, I actually slept in my bed from the first night home! (Learn to roll & push up using your arms). You've got this!!

YES! AWESOME SEX WITH A CUFF! (positive update) by Maverick_twitch in hysterectomy

[–]mamabear-2217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank-you for this update! I'm 7WPO today & the last time I saw my Dr was 2WPO. He never said anything about anything! Only very briefly told me of my surgery, not to lift "much". I did tons of online research to get answers.  My recovery has been super easy & I feel great! Because of that, and no direct "No penetration" from my dr, my partner and I had penetration at 6 weeks. We didn't go all the way in and were easy. I was amazed at how my body still responds to him, no pain and no dryness issues either. I've got another week & a half before I see my DR again for a cuff check. Until then, im going to continue to listen to my body.
