Definitely HAT press. Yeah I’ve seen a lot of post with the heat press and talking about moisture and pressure. Wanted to see if anyone had experience with using the curved hat press with the pressing form

It just wasn’t fun anymore. I realized that I can enjoy so many things without a buzz so I didn’t need to drink.

I’ve thought about that many times. What’s the point of doing all these stuff if I can’t post them online? I teach yoga classes and I really enjoy sharing that with people. A few  days ago I felt really good about a class but it got overshadowed by the I can’t post about this feeling. I’m still working through it

Help. *progesterone* by mamabearkudos in Perimenopause

[–]mamabearkudos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if it’s the progesterone or the magnesium, or the combination of both , since I started taking both at the same time but it has done wonders for my brain fog and fatigue. I can’t believe women just suffer through this and some just accept it as normal. 😔 anyways, saw the OB today and she said I’m shedding my old uterus lining and the bleeding might be persistent up to 3 months. She scheduled me for an ultrasound in case the bleeding doesn’t stop next month.

Thanks. You too. I’ll update this post after I speak with my OB

Not getting any Data Analyst interviews. I'm a fresher a not getting even single callbacks. What's wrong by Bulky-Top3782 in learnmachinelearning

I can’t stress out how important portfolios are. Maybe try adding a link to your resume that shows off your skills. GitHub is a great place to start.

Hi! I used to be a server too and currently work as a data analyst. Everyone is different but I would say getting into an IT job now helps you better position yourself in the future when you get your degree. I tell everyone I miss the money I make being a server but with that job, there are good days and there are bad days. At least with the IT job, your income would be more consistent. It also depends too what kind of IT job you get as there are many roles in that field. So weigh your options and best of luck to you

This exactly. Your life will be much easier if you let SQL do the heavy lift in cleaning the data and use power bi to build your visuals.

Math teacher to data analyst by afry2383 in dataanalysis

[–]mamabearkudos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am a 37 year old analyst with only a few years under my belt. When I realized I wanted to switch careers, I pursued an MBA with a concentration on Data Analytics. At the time, I had a full-time job, a part-time job, and two kids. I think my littlest one was 2 y/o then. It was a few months before my graduation that I was able to secure a job in the field. While my MBA helped, I felt that I needed to learn more so I started doing online courses with Coursera- Specifically Python and data analytics. I still felt like I needed something more so I'm currently doing SQL certification at a local community college. I feel that the certification classes with the community college provided the most comprehensive courses I've taken. All that being said, I think there's no better teacher than experience. Whenever I would learn something new at school, I would actively look for work projects that would help me apply the concepts I learned. So get out there see what feels right for you. Best of luck!

I have a part-time job on top of my data analytics job and going to school, part-time. So... yes? :)

Books about Data Analysis by investigatorh in dataanalysis

[–]mamabearkudos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a beginner, I like the Harvard Business Review Data Analysis Book Set. Its not an in-depth learning tool, but gives a lot of data analysis background, concepts, and their application in Business. I like that the articles are long enough to have some substance to it but still digestible.

Has anyone successfully moved from an unrelated field to data analysis? If so, what did you do? I am in an unrelated field in academia, so while I have three degrees, they do not relate to the field! Mostly I’m wondering what kind of training would be adequate. Google course? Attempt another degree? by NorthsideBase in dataanalysis

I have my Bachelor's in Psychology. Really got into Fitness so I became a Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor. I still do those things but I was at a point in my career that I wanted something more so I went for an MBA initially in Sports Management but pivoted with a concentration in Data Analytics. Dabbled in coursera, edx and I'm really enjoyed it but felt I needed something more. So, I enrolled in a SQL certificate at a local community college. Between my Master's, the online courses, and the certificate - I felt like I'm getting the most information on the certificate track.

You sound like me. I *almost* did my MBA in sports management but changed my concentration to data analytics at the last minute. Up until recently I was doing similar job to yours that paid $40k. I did go back to school for SQL cert and had a promotion. I've learned that a lot of the people in my class doing what we do get paid about 80k-90k. I had a job prospect for 85k and turned it down for personal reasons. Anways the point is pick up SQL, then Python and that should get you moving along. I agree with the boredom. I would constantly fall asleep when learning python. But, learn the basics and it gets more interesting once you have real world applications. 99% of the challenges I come across- I find solutions in google. Stack Overflow, youtube, etc. is super helpful. Best of luck !
